So i have a really decent setup but my psu and my graphics card is lacking. So being a little knowledgeable about computers i order a new power supply and graphics card.
PSU: Corsair CX750 Builder Series ATX 80 PLUS Bronze Certified Power Supply
Graphics card : Sapphire Radeon HD 7750 1GB DDR5 HDMI / DVI-I / DP PCI-Express Graphics Card 11202-00-20G
So when i got these in the mail i start hooking everything up. The card went in smoothly no problems. Then i hooked up the PSU and that went in smoothly. Went to start up my tower and it started to beep. It didn't have pattern to the beeps. So i shut down the tower so it wouldn't be ruined. Inserted my old PSU and it booted right up. So I ordered another new PSU: XFX ATX 550 Power Supply - P1550SXXB9. So while I'm waiting for that to come in i kept my old PSU in which is only 460w, and tried out the graphics card. Not very pleased with it. Now I'm looking at getting this graphics card:
EVGA 02G-P4-2660-KR GeForce GTX 660 2GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
This is a very long winded way of asking should i trade in the radeon for the geforce? If so can i run the geforce on the 550w power supply or should i get a different one.
the 7750 is a very low end card, barely suited for gaming. The PSu (XFX 550) is good and yes enough power. The 660 is an excellent upgrade or if you can get an AMD 7870XT:
If you are looking to get a GTX 660 check out the gigabyte version here. It has a much better cooling solution, so it will keep the card even cooler than the reference version evga uses. Its also factory overclocked so you get even more performance for your dollar. I ordered one for my new system and I couldn't be happier.
