    Megaera's Rage question

Can any Tanks that have killed Megaera explain how http://www.wowhead.com/spell=139765 works? If you have a swap on the heads that are further away from each other is it guaranteed that the tanks will get this? What is the timing of the tank swap mechanishm to avoid this?

    Thanks-

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I'm pretty sure the tanks just swap during rampage and not during the regular phase. Could be wrong though.

We had to deal with that. currently 10/12 but we wasted like 4 hours on him . anyways easiest way to deal with it we found out afterwards. we 4 healed it to keep people alive BUT you can negate megaera's rage by putting a holy paly/monk healer(can use anyone but those 2 like to stand in melee anyways) to stand in melee range of the head you guys are NOT killing during the swaps megaera only does rage when no one is in melee range and she starts the casts immediatly and still casts it even if you get into melee range before the cast.

    10 man or 25man?
on 10man all we did was:
    begin fight, kill green head
when heads retreat everyone stacked up between blue and red for aoe heals/cds for the 15? seconds of rage
when rage is over everyone spread out, blue tank is now on red and the green tank is on blue
    kill blue head
when heads retreat everyone stacked up by red for aoe heals/cds
when rage is over everyone spread out, red tank is now on green and blue tank is on green
    repeat.

    tl;dr:
1 tank tanked the 'kill target' and moved on it during the rage
other tank tanked the 'not kill target'
stack up when heads retreat by the kill target for aoe healing/cds
never tank swapped during the non-rage phase
    2tank/3heal/5dps

We are 10 man. It sounds like the mistake we were making was to try to have the tanks swap at 2 stacks.

might depend on your raid dps tbh, most of our dps were ilvl 500+, probably 505+

We just switched when we got 3 stacks even during the normal phase and never had it happen but we are a monk and warrior so we switched pretty fast.

How did you guys coordinate the tank switches? Was it a verbal call out?

We kept getting the Megaera's Rage hitting the tanks.

Just make sute they both swap at the same time, we have a warrior and pala tank and the issue we had was the warrior would leap while the pala would be starting to run to the other head, so they just need to call out between themselves when they want to start moving on the swaps.

tanks dont need swap i suppose. they need only a little heal. i personally was tanking fire head it does pretty good damage with 4 stacks but with a good cd rotation and healers help you can survive

    for 25m:
    - either tank a whole phase during rampage
    - or perform tankswitch via warri-jump, lifegrip, pala speed of light... make sure to only taunt the boss, when you are in position, not before!

We kept getting the Megaera's Rage hitting the tanks.
We each have weak Auras that display each others debuffs and stacks and we switch right after the second debuff and then again once the new mob spawns.

same here as soon we had 2 debuff we call each other and switch. Even being a pally which was pretty hard for me to cross to the other side we still managed to do it. Or u just use one melee to tank it till the other tank gets there

When we killed this on 10 man we just had our tanks swap after every Rampage. They had 3 usually or maybe a 4th if someone died/was slow and it only felt a bit bad going from red-->green with 4 stacks of red.

Has anyone else had an issue with the final 2 heads just bugging out and spamming Megaera's Rage on a tank in melee range?

We had a couple of wipes and a very dicey kill due to this, but we never saw it happen at any other point in the fight, only after a tank swap on the final pair.

We 3-healed it on 10m, ~ 330k rdps taken and ~ 750k rdps dealt. What's the idea behind swapping on the second breath? Only seems to be an option/solution for those guys 4-healing it.

    - Ignite Flesh (red) just stacks, you have to heal the same total amount if you have 2 stacks on each tank or 3/1 or 4/0. But having it all ticking on one tank allows more focussed love (including personal and external cooldowns).
    - Artic Freeze (blue) only freezes on the 5th stack which you should never reach with sufficient dps to beat this encounter.
    - Rot armor (green) only adds a %modifier, swapping with several stacks of that and a red head might cause as much pain as just eat all breath regulary.

Our kill order: green, red, green, red, blue, green, blue. We also needed several tries, couldn't afford to much blue heads due to healer having to take a walk back to back (only throwing around instants). With a different healer setup (wtb resto druid!) this can differ a lot for sure.

We did a test on our pull so 100% we for sure know that if the person with agro leaves melee range, she will cast it. It doesn't matter if you have 2 rogues in melee, she will still cast it if your tank leaves.

No need to tank swap on this, in fact it good make take dmg worse if say poison tank is swapping to fire.
