Who do you vote for in a PVP match?

As the thread's title says, who do you vote in a PVP match?

I vote for those who have the highest objectives score, if the team sucked and the score is low, I then choose either people who have protected and healed well.

Since most people tend to vote the first of a category, I some times vote for the second best. That guy did also his best and helped the team to win the game. I usually vote for most healing/protection as healers/tanks are not common and have a great contribution to the team.

I never EVER vote for the guy with the most objectives. Some Sorcerers bastards stand alone on a side of Civil War and life-taping/healing themselves and earn defender objective points. I hate those guys

Stats never tell the whole story, so I usually never vote, unless I see someone do a really clutch play.

The problem with that is if you don't vote, you also don't get credit for people who voted for you. That could lead to you receiving less Valor/WZ comms than you could have received had you voted.

OT : I usually vote for whoever did the most healing. Although, under certain circumstances I vote for the most Protection. Most damage, most kills, who cares? Only if they had Deathmatch WZs.

I usually go for max protection or healing however though whenever I'm pvp'ng with my tank or healer and having highest heal/ protection, I never tend to get any votes for it. I'm generally more successfull with high damage/ high medal count.

yup, like the one guy said, people tend to vote for the person at the top of the list.

I think recently there has been a little swing away from people just blindly sorting on the healing column then voting for top heals, I've noticed a lot more people voting for things like objectives and even damage ahead of heals.
It used to make me laugh when I was playing my watchman sentinel and I would get a couple of votes for being top healer when we didn't have a healer but people still blindly voted for the top 'healer', or maybe it was because someone had noticed that I had spent the whole WZ plaguing the opposition healers..unlikely but possible.

I voted for healer in this poll as I do vote for heals mostly but I do often vote for top protection if their numbers show they have done more than stuck guard on someone and thrown about the odd taunt, especially if I'm on one of my healers. I also vote for objectives....that guy who spent the whole of the WZ sitting guarding a base/door deserves a little recognition as long as he makes the 'inc' calls early ofc. I'll only ever vote damage if there are no outstanding healers/protection/objectives scores and the damage is out of this world.

I don't usually go by the scoreboard when I vote, but rather what I see. Someone can screw up royally and still do well on the scoreboard and the other way around, someone can play good and get low scores.

I do however think that the best in Healing, Damage and Protection deserve at least 1 vote each. People seriously underestimate the value of damage dealers and tanks. As a damage dealer I never get votes, ever. No matter what I do, I don't get votes... People just give votes to the top healer, even if he's only done 100% self healing.

Until reading this, I never even knew you could vote for MVP's, so yeah... You learn something new every day.

Being a healer I vote for the best 'other one' in our team. I sometimes vote for damage or medal leaders but only if I've noticed them specifically during the WZ. Generally though my votes tend to go to other healers...birds of a feather...

I only really PvP with a healer buddy of mine, I pew pew, he keeps me alive so we usually vote for each other, as we're usually the best performers in the matches for damage and healing anyway. Although, even if we aren't we still vote for each other, which sucks for you that do perform well but we're just helping each other out -_-

Well there is no one stat which determines the way I'll vote in PvP, as someone said above stats never tell the whole story. And I feel like people have some bias against each stat. If you have the most damage/kills it means you have tunnel vision and run around leaving the objectives unguarded to play deathmatch. If you have high objective points it means you sat off to the side and went afk while you 'defended.' And if you have high healing and objectives it means you're off on the side self healing for medals and not contributing to the battle. This probably isn't accurate, but its what some players believe.

I mainly vote for something that I see, that really turns the whole match around. Like a guy taking the second pylon on Hypergate, or if one guy can tank a whole team and keep them off a node/doors until reinforcements can come. Someone who might not top charts but through their actions, saves the match.

Similarly, I'm compelled to vote for people who give helpful direction in warzones. I like communicators who let me know when their node needs help and after its been cleared. I think people need some direction so they know where they need to fight, rather than just fighting anywhere and letting the objectives be taken. I know some people hate talking, but I think its helpful. Unless you're typing when there's fighting going on, then I have no sympathy for you.

What I don't understand is why some people don't vote for MVP. I get that if you lose you're dissatisfied and don't want to reward anyone for poor play, but the extra comms they get, while not a huge amount, will help players on your faction get access to better gear more quickly. They might not be bad players, it might just be a case of not having the best gear yet and better geared teams tend to steamroll. So even when I lose I make sure to vote for MVP, your faction loses out when you don't. And its really disappointing to be the top damage, healing and objectives and get no votes, and I've seen that happen a couple times.

I'll use my eyes and see who seems to be the one contributing the most to the team. If a healer does a great amount of healing, but fx. Is standing as the last man in mid civil war, and the opposing team are capping and the our team is close to arriving and said healer just runs around LoS healing or, as I've seen in some cases, just standing still and hardcasting, then I don't care if he's done 2 mil healing.

But most of the time I vote for a friend.

  15. #15
I usually vote for my buddy, but in the case i pvp alone, i normally vote for the healer who has kept me alive, and especially if there is a healer who just blows his competitors (both pub and empire alike) in healing done. exception for consuming sorcs. also any one who does an impressive play, like scoring an impossible huttball goal, or capping for the win in the other warzones.

Don't play anymore and selected don't pick.

I would only vote if someone stood out, all the stats don't tell you anything, especially most damage done and healing done. Usually to get those categories high, you just blindly follow the crowd who are usually just there to get kills.

I hate it when they do that sorcerer thing when they are solo guarding a base.
If we have a solo guard at a base in ACW I usually keep an eye on the hp of the guy guarding the base just in case he is one of the many that don't call inc until they are dead. It bugs me when I go running off to grass or snow during a titanic struggle at mid only to find the guard is a sorcerer converting health to force then healing themself up.

It can be pretty boring to guard.... and I like these guys very much as it gives me an instant solo kill and something to tap.

Im usually top healing and rarely ever seem to get more than 1-2 MVP votes . Sometimes Ill get none and the person under me gets the most! Da fuq

It depends on the Warzone. In Voidstar the person who got the door cap or the person who got the clutch defuse. In Huttball I will generally vote for the people who are actively getting into position to be passed to or making clutch passes. In Civil War I will vote for the person who goes left to cap and defend.

In general I will vote for people who are willing to pick up the shitty jobs. Things that people don't normally want to do but nonetheless instrumental to a victory.

Another thing to note is that I am not omnipresent so I don't necessarily know who capped a door or defused a bomb or who scored the huttball for the go ahead point. In these cases I generally vote for healing or protection then objective points.
