Spectral Guise and Ionization

OK, so this is a stupid thought… When doing the Nalak part of the LMG quest, I was able to use Spectral Guise to get out of combat and despawn Nalak. If that knocks me out of combat for a short time, can I also use it just before Jin’Rokh casts ionization to avoid getting the debuff? It’s not the end of the world to CD and dispel, but would be a big time savings and would make the fight a lot easier…
