    Graphics Card upgrade Question

So, I have been out of the computer building game for a bit, and I have a performance question regarding card upgrades.

I have a XFire setup of 2 ATI Radeon HD 4800 series. (haven't opened the case to see the exact make and model, but they are about 3 years old).

I am curious if the ASUS HD7770-DC-1GD5-V2 AMD Radeon HD 7770 VGA 1 GB GDDR5 Graphics Card would outperform my XFire setup or if there is another suggestion for a cost effective upgrade. Biggest issue I have, is I am not sure how to compare a XFire setup to a single graphics card.

    Thanks,

Yes, it will outperform that crossfire setup.
I suggest that you should get a card with 2GB GDDR5 instead of 1GB though, since that can be a bottleneck in new gen games.

Edit: Wait, which two cards do you have? You didn't specify what cards, just the series.
    For GPU comparison; http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html

I'd suggest being a Radeon HD 7850 instead though, even though it costs $50 more.

I want to say they are Radeon HD 4870. Would that make a difference in your suggestions?

    Thanks,

Also, I should add that I mainly only play WOW. For wow, would that incur the need for the 2GB card?

Thank you again for all your advice.

In that case.. in THEORY, HD 7770 has very similar performance to two 4870's.
If you want to get best GPU for your money, i'd suggest getting a HD 7850.

    Ok, last question.

Looking at the Gigabyte Radeon HD 7850.

    Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD 7850 2 GB GDDR5 DVI-I/HDMI/2x mini-Displayport PCI-Express 3.0 Graphic Card GV-R785OC-2GD

    on amazon.

Does this allow dual monitors from 1 card? Or even more than 1 monitor.

Thanks again for the help and incites.

7850 is a great solid card, you'll notice a better framerate & the absence of micro stuttering.

And yeah the 7850s generally come with 3 or 4 outputs allowing for multiple monitors, just make sure you go for the 2gb model rather than the 1gb.
