Rift used to be a game that I could not tab out of without having a bothersome time tabbing back into, if the game sound was on.
Tabbing back in could be a real pain in the ass, depending on how long I'd been tabbed out. All of the sound would blast out at once and the video would take a moment to catch up to the now point.
And this is on a SATA III SSD. Cannot imagine how it is for HDD-installed-Rift players. =S
So props on fixing that. I've been tabbed out for a good 10 minutes and I tabbed back in and the issue was not that at all.

Was this in windowed maximized mode, or fullscreen? Because I've been running in windowed maximized since I started playing (and in the beta) and I've never had any problems >.>

Windowed Full-screen mode has always caused me issues in Rift. Full-screen. =/

Never had this issue or heard of it. Possibly your machine rather than RIFT? Not seen anything in the hotfixes that would account for any sound or hardware related fixes or optimizations.

As I recall though, 2.2 was full of client fixes/optimizations.
Frankly Rift is the only game that would have this issue, anything else, and even more intensive games had nothing. Might be thanks to Trion's poor choice in the Gamebryo Engine or whatever it was that they chose."A flower.

There were only a couple audio fixes and some server optimizations, nothing client side. Also the game apparently has been altered so much that it barely resembles the Gamebryo engine anymore. Originally Posted by DeltrusDisc
Not saying that it isn't RIFT, but that kind of issue sounds more like a PC issue than a game issue. Just because it's only happening with one game doesn't mean that it is automatically that game at fault

Never had this issue with Rift and played in beta.
