    EA's CEO steps down

Pretty big news, hope the next one isn't as money hungry.

I don't really see this changing anything. Just a new face with the same policies.

Who had almost stood up to the vicious Chicken of Bristol.
And who had personally wet himself, at the Battle of Badon Hill.

S/he will be just as money hungry. If s/he is not, s/he will be fired and replaced with someone who is. A CEO's job is to make as much money as possible. It is the major metric upon which a CEO is evaluated.

I feel like rejoicing, but I'm afraid EA will get someone as bad as Riccitiello. We'll see. Wish they would get someone who actually knows how not to screw over gamers, but that's a stretch.

i think a better hope is that the new one has better long term vision with their greed. sometimes short term profits really fuck long term viability hard, if you piss your customer base off too much

Oh damn, I was just thinking the same thing! Soon we can hear about all the ways people play games just not fiting her "vision."

I think the biggest problem here is gaming community is full of mindless addicts, buying total shit buggy games from EA even if they know it. And EA has executed (bought) most of the other gamemaker houses making it hard to buy proper games instead of their shitty games.

The CEO of EA is just a muppet, i dont think owners allow new CEO to be any less moneyhungry idiot.

I know people are skeptical for ea, but i personally hope they can be redeemed with a new CEO, even if those dreams will most likely be crushed. i want bioware to be good again

It wouldn't actually take a whole lot to turn EA around. Just need to get someone in there whose got some style.

And I thought people hated Luc Barthelet(?) and Rod Humble for what they supposedly did to The Sims series.

I think that's a fair, and more realistic hope. Honestly, we WANT someone who is money-hungry to be CEO. We DON'T want someone who attempts to bolster their short term profit at the expense of long term sustainability.

The problem is, investors are just as fickle/obnoxious/thick-headed as customers can be. Economic downturn + CEO on the hot seat = leveraging long term success for immediate profits.

He must have gotten a better position as Lord of hell.
