    That's insanely expensive for a licence O.o

In the UK I think you can get a bike licence and a bike for like 300-500 quid

  11. #24351
Lessons @€40 each, 3 mandatory tests @€150+ each. License itself is €40, so that's not too expensive

What Asme said. And then after that add the suit, helmet and a bike, and you know why I dont have one.

I don't know what it costs here. I guess a pretty penny at least considering how god damn expensive the regular driver license is already.

Mine was around 800€, included with driving test and writing test I believe, and each extra driving lesson is about 20€.

You can go to as many theoretical classes as you wish without paying a thing for two years.

Cool, got a credit (between 60 and 69%) on my project website thing. I'm shocked at that, was hoping to just pass tbh. I think my website design was okay but when it came to the extra stuff like we were supposed to cross check our website with this chart for web design best practices and I didn't even do that and it was worth 5% xD, and I didn't optimize my website for mobile use and that was also worth 5% and a bunch of other stuff, just ran out of time :<

    Still, happy!
Now I just need to pass the exam for it tomorrow!

Your licenses are cheap. Mine was more than €1,500.

There are many different routes in the UK. You need provisional licence, CBT, Theory and Practical, which cost 50, 100, 25 and 50 quid each (give or take), so 225 quid.

You can learn by yourself, or pay for lessons. Alternatively, you can opt to go the DAS route, which costs between 350 and 700 quid, depending on how many days you do it for, this includes the practical test.

    So if you learned via DAS, you'd be paying for a provisional licence (50)+ CBT (100) + theory (25) + DAS (350 to 700) = 525 to 875 quid.

You could opt to avoid DAS and get individual lessons (or if you're stupid, self teach or get a friend to teach you, though you may not need many if any extra lessons after doing the cbt). These usually start around 20 quid per hour.

    Let's say 10 lessons. Provisional licence (50) + CBT (100) + theory (25) + 10 lessons (200) = 375 quid.

Bike/gear is dependant upon your budget, preferences and availability.

Whilst riding a bike is a damned sight more dangerous than driving a car, you may enjoy it more (depends on the person) and it's also a lot cheaper (and quicker (to get the licence i mean))

If I ever learn to "drive", it'll be a bike

Like I say though, prices and routes are varied.
