first off, TradewindNQ, it can affect you. Google, Facebook, Twitter and Microsoft are all American companies. if you use their products, your personal data falls under their EULAs and American privacy laws, because they're in hands of American companies. even MMO-champion is in US hands.

now, suppose that one of our US posters here is a suspect in an FBI investigation. if you are communicating a lot with that person through the forums, you could get targeted as well. if one of the Boston bombers had an account on here, or another forum you visit often, and you communicated often with him, you would be a suspected person.

and Walbomb, 99% of pornsites have a redhead tag or even section. there are millions of redhead videos on the internet, with billions of views. so many people watch porn. what is the FBI going to do? are they going to analyse all the US hosted redhead video stats that are appropriate for the investigation? if we take 50 million videos with 100 relevant views each, that's 5 billion views they need to analyse, link to people and interpret. if your neighbour has a 16 year old kid, that's just as likely a target as you.

It often seems to be the case that it's those with money to back people working in the government that are the source of the issues that pop up. Changing individuals inside the government may just end up changing the face of the problem, but not the underlying cause. One of the issues of a country very much focused on capitalism as the control is in the hands of those who can afford to buy it, in my opinion.
