    Future of WoW: wishlist

Hey guys. Well im not sure where to post this but I've had some ideas for WoW since Wrath days. But I never put them down until now. I wrote to Blizz about some of my ideas but I got a reply about not being able to take idea submissions or something. Some legal piece of paper. Anyways I was kinda like AWWW that sucks im not even looking for money but I guess they have their reasons.

Anyways I finally decided to put these down here in hopes that, maybe some of you can contribute your own ideas or possibly tell me why mine suck? . Im not a masochist just looking for some honesty. Some ideas are old and some I thought of recently. Anyways without further hiccups, here goes

    Future of WoW

    --Visual Durability loss--(visible gear damage)
An example of this would be plate wearers have a visual cracked piece on their body. Their weapon has loose links. IDK how this will be achieved with UNDEADS but im sure we can think of something

    --LFR Loot rule change--
So the random looting is still in effect with this idea BUT the difference is the gear is tradeable. So the Ninja-ing will be taken care of as well as the "Damn i dont need this crap I already got 2 im gonna vendor it" thing, when someone else can actually use it. Its a win/win.

    --Pet battles--
I thought of this in Wrath. I have proof but you'll probably say I just wrote it down now. SO whatever. But im happy this is in there. Just wanted to point that out, as self serving as it is!! HA!

    --Mount battles--
Just like pet battles and SORTA like the Argent Dailies except this is mounted. Each mount has its unique abilities, battles are fought in the Sky or on the ground. and as soon as your mount loses its HP you are dismounted and fall to your death. (or parachute down if you wanna be nice). if you're on a ground mount you are still launched in the air and you die because you suck/lost.

--Max level feature:: <old instance level selection>
What is old instance level selection you ask? Its where you reach max level and when you go do an instance you can choose the level you want. This will be a very effective tool to keep players, playing. So basically ALL old instances/low level instances are re-done for max players. We are talking A LOT of instances re-done. RFC, Stockades, Wailing Caverns, Ramps etc. All dungeons revamped for max level players. Before they walk in they get to choose wether they want to do a heroic max level dungeon OR the lowbie dungeon. What does this do? it gives us a crap load of new dungeons to do instead of the same 6, a BORING grind I always hated when you hit max level. Lets shake it up a bit. Lets have 20+ dungeons at your fingertips. So much to do. It also encourages people to level alts. How? Well what if I want a run through Scarlet Monastery?? Call my buddy, he's lvl 90(or higher) and we can walk in together. No problems.

    --queue for old content--
Title states it all. Let the queue be there for all dungeons available to all level toons. If you want players to experience the world then, lets make it a pre-requisite for them to have completed the dungeon on another toon before they can use the system. So now my lvl 29 friend can queue with my lvl 91 friend and they can play together despite their lvl difference.

--New world pvp zone<THE UNDERGROUND TUNNEL OF DEATH>
I dont pvp. I hate it honestly. BUT just to show you im not biast, I present you the most AWESOMEST world pvp you can experience... Its an UNDERGROUND tunnel built by(insert faction here) that leads fro Org to Stormwind and vice versa. obviously the continents dont connect but you enter the portal on either side(horde through Org and Ally through SW) and you meet at the center. There you will have a very NARROW space to duke it out against your enemies. And if you let them get through well, you have just allowed your kings and leaders to be taken down. This is For the Horde/For the Alliance 2.0. The space is narrow and there will be like holes in the wall you can hide in... Why must you hide? Well because every 2 minutes and 35 seconds a HUGE boulder (like indiana jones) will come and CRUSH(1 shot) everything in its way. An Ally can Death grip you in there?? Yes!!! Can my jerk friend who is a priest life grip me in there? Sure!!! Less QQ more SQUISH

    --RDE <Random Dungeon Encounter>
RDE is basically you queue up for a dungeon. But you dont queue for just 1 specific dungeon. You are allowing yourself to be put to any dungeon after any 1 boss. For example If i queue for RDE, a standard RDE is a 3 boss limit before I get my Valor. So say that RDE queue puts me in, Scarlet Halls, and I fight and kill Braun, I will then be TELEPORTED into another group and i could end up in Temple of the Jade Serpent with 4 completely different people.

    --Heirlooms-- Actual BOA>
This is self explanatory. Can you just give it to us? These are NOT BOA. These are Bind on realm. So please either fix the tooltip or try to put some effort into making these TRUE BOA.

    <Onyxia>
Ok im gonna say this. Blizzard, I am very upset about where you left Ony. She's beautiful. She's stuck in that tiny little cave. And people are going there bashing her then SKINNING her just for a mount and some Transmog gear. I think this is not cool at all dude. Ony used to mean something. She was a force to be reckon with. I dont appreciate her being skinned 1 bit. So for starters can you please remove that? I really dislike it. Second, I have an END GAME ony encounter that ANY TRUE raider will LOVE to tackle. This is only for the hardcore raiders that really want a challenge. I have an enitre 8 pages of an Ony encounter that im way too sleepy right now to type up. And I haven't even finished yet. give me a couple more days and ill post it up...

Anyways thats my wall of text. Now taking any questions, comments, compliments or concerns. Thanks!!

I just like it when people actually share their own ideas. I have plenty, never write it down though..
We all know most of the things won't come as we imagine, even if we dare to submit the ideas on official forums and get tons of approval posts from players.
But sometimes making such ideas feel even funnier then playing the game. For those creative enough.

I like most of what you wrote, probably except for the Ony part(we don't really want devs' effor spent on redoing things over and over too much)
And the RDE seems awefull - i don't feel dungeon is all about boss-looting, it's about it's unique atmosphere and sometimes trash-mobs are more interesting and harder then the bosses. Ripping dungeons apart to glue them uncontrollably may be fun just to try it, yet it's another step towards killing the word 'World' in 'World of Warcraft'.

My personal prefference for MMO would be:
Much bigger world(with faster mount speeds sure) with some zones(yes, real huge zones) being instantiated for your group like current dungeons, using random landscape patterns like in Diablo series maybe. NOTE: Not ALL zones, just some. This design leads to lot of changes, there can be any purpose for those zones really, they can be faction-owned, group-owned, may be really contested between factions(why don't we loose/gain control over contested zones in wow, except for Tol Barad-like subzones?)

And YES, Blizzard could have done a lot more different BGs. Just why not?
A chess-style competition(like a karazhan boss), where pieces dps/hp maybe scales with your gear, mayube not.
A horde/ally competition to be the first for something - like going to down a 3d side boss first, being able to crush each-other's machines too.
A really pvp+pve map(like dota, right, but i feel it's stupid that players keep doing the same map for years, the aims and landscapes should be different)
A "build-economy" pvp, where the NPC's are really all around, growing crops, building defencive structures, and we're to keep them alife or even take part in their actions to reach the goal(survival over time, level of technology, amount of crops prepared, or anything else),not just arathi basin, where "i stay near the forge so horde gets new blades"

I made it all up right now, righting the post, but it could be like 30 well-invented BGs if I(or better a blizz dev) took time.

But recently i play too little, and thoughts of developing this game(or any next-gen mmo) visit me much less.

Either they need to get rid of gear entirely for PVP and standardize it, or make it far easier to earn conquest in randoms. The way it is now is just flat out stupid (I understand random BGs not being optimal, but don't make one thing take an hour or two, and another take about 20 hours :x That's just stupid.), and that's really the only idea I can think of I'd want that hasn't been mentioned. I really like the idea of queuing for old content and having your level scaled down, so you can play with low level friends. Would like to do that with questing with them, too.

Oh! Speaking of, I'd like to see them give BONUS XP for group questing, rather than LESS XP. As it is now, it's actually an extreme detriment to quest with people to the point that it makes it painfully slow. At the very least, at this point in time, with how so few people want to quest together, they could at least make it the same XP as questing by yourself.

I am a scrub, but I would like more challenging 5-mans. I don't care for raiding since I don't like commitment and attitudes. However, I like a challenge.

I wish dungeons were more challenging.

Unfortunately, I am one of the few casuals who want more challenging content.

    --Merged Auction Houes--
    Shared across battlegroups.

    --Profession Levelling--
All professions to be able to use current mats to get over bumps like Blacksmithing with Ghost iron.

    --Tabards Revamped--
Tabards permanently learned across all characters and accessed like pets or mounts. Factions are championed through the tabard interface. Two versions, a Faction Initiate's Tabard and a Faction Champion's Tabard. Visually differentiated like the illustrious/renowned guild tabard and the private/scout vs knight/stone guard PvP tabards. The initiate tabard can be purchased at friendly reputation and the champion at exalted. Faction Champion's Tabards gain reputation faster (as one of your characters is already exalted).

    --Spellbook optimization--
Cut down on fat, merge or remove abilities that are similar/situational.

    --15m Raids--
Zarhym talked about it here... quite a few perks over the existing system. Also, minor graphical differences between LFR, normal, and heroic gear besides color (example) with LFR gear of rare quality.

    --Dungeon Finder modifications--
To encourage realm groups, completing dungeons in the Dungeon Finder would provide additional gold and valor/justice points scaling with the number of players you queue with. Likewise with battlegrounds and honor points. Players would get the bonus rewards two times per day up to seven times per week instead of once a day.

    Visual Durability loss:
No thanks. Why? Because blizzard already cba's to make unique gear models for players. Just look at all of the glove items, robe items, boots items. They ALL only use 3 different models or something like that.

    LFR loot rule change:
I like this. But I don't think much people will make use of this as it will either produce grief because people won't give other people their loot (which for enchanters is actually really valuable) or because they simply don't care/bother.

    Mount battles:
I also thought of this in like cataclysm. But I'd prefer flying mount battles, or a big FFA arena where you can fly/ride around and fight other people (or race?).

    Max level instance:
Meh, this wouldn't be as popular as you would think I reckon simply because most people have done such dungeons a gazillion times before. The only thing I'd like to see is solo-able max level instances, like solo scenarios, but dungeons instead with a chance of loot.

    Queue for old content:
I don't know.. like your previous suggestion, I don't think many higher levelled players would want to re-do such dungeons, let stand with lower levels while being scaled down.

    New wPvP zone:
A small tunnel won't be fun for neither parties. It promotes zerging and classes like DKs, warlocks, mages, SV hunters while keeping classes like ele/enha shams out. I do however support the idea of a big battleground-like area where you can fight other players.

    RDE:
This would be a nice feature to have so that people who only want to cap valor are able to do RDE, while others who need gear can queue for random dungeons.

    Heirlooms:
Really don't get why they haven't still implemented this.

Ok, you can see it on character selection screen probably but why else? Many people plays with max zoom so you can't even tell where's head or arm or leg of your character

Psst wanna buy these gloves for 500k?
Do you think people will trade their stuff for free? So naive...

    --Mount battles--

Mounted battles sucks. Argent tournament is perfect proof of this statement :P Did you ever saw anyone dueling there (once for achievement doesn't count :P ).

@ people thinking that players will ask gold to trade epics in LFR - YOU CANNOT TRADE GOLD, unless you are from the same server I guess - perhaps then not even in LFR - but after.

So scratch that. Besides who cares if people trade stuff for gold (if it was allowed) no one took anything from someone else. It is not like they rolled need on something they didn't need. They just got something that they don't need. So no one was hurt by that. Asking for gold apart from being greedy is not bad either.

    -----
I would love nicer tabards. I would love to transmog tabards aswell. I would love a Stormwind cloak (you can get this at the quartermaster in SW) that is actually LONG. What were they thinking having such a cloak fit for a gnome?

    -----
I'd love my transmoggear being put in my spellbook. Ofcourse you would have limited room there I think. Perhaps room for 6/10 sets? (you could still transmog the old fashioned way aswell, would be my option so people who are nuts about transmog could still fill their banks etc with stuff).

    -----
Tabards in my spellbook would be awesome too. Too much bankspace is sacrificed for that.

My most wanted feature is that they somehow "remove" servers. Make it all instanced, etc. Merge 'em all. CRZ like, but with all servers and guilds etc. So many servers are dead atm and it's ruining the experience for many players.

They always say merging would ruin names etc., but they could go about it adding a "title" under the guild name from where the person originally is from.

Like "Nibu the patient <Guild> [Sylvanas]" and they may be another Nibu, but he'd have a different server name below his guild name. Everybody wins. Do it now please!

    I'd like to see:
    - Updated models. But this is already on the way of course.
    - Random content in the sense of random encounters in dungeons, scenarios and raids. Not bosses necessarily, but different and random trash everywhere.
    - Gear Downscaling coupled with special (level-appropriate) rewards, or Challenge Modes, for older raids, older dungeons, and the new scenarios. Basically, for every instanced PvE content, past and future. But this is probably already in the pipeline at Blizzard. Hopefully...
    - More non-raid achievements with weird things to do
    - Slightly increased difficulty of regular world mobs (more HP, more damage). No big change, just a bit so they are no pushover anymore and so you can't mass-pull and AoE them down unless you're a tank or have used some major CDs
    - More cross-server features (like shared auction house), and also the ability to invite and play with someone from the opposite faction (after all, not everyone from the other faction is an enemy)

That would be my biggest wishes. There's plenty of other minor stuff, but not that important.

I didn't get what you mean for LFR. Ninjas wouldn't trade away loot they don't need, even if they could.
I find the idea of revamping every dungeon terrible. I don't want to do the same stuff every expansion when the level raises, effectively allowing Blizzard to develop new fresh content.

    My wishlist:
-Make Zandalari Warbringers soloable again, or make it so they apply a stacking debuff per hit to paladins, death knights and druid, so that when it reaches 5 stacks they instadie.

They could use the ilvl scaling they are using for challenge modes.
So they don't have to redo all the instance's but just scale down your gear to do old dungeons and raids.

And here's where you show your age... or lack of same. See, once upon a time, back in the days when 'Ony used to mean something' that you wax so nostalgic about? SKINNING ONYXIA WAS VITAL TO PROGRESSION. Go hit up WoWhead and look up the Onyxia Scale Cloak, which at 60 was mandatory equipment for any raider in BWL. You got the recipe by turning in her head as a high-level leatherworker.

And yeah, some retro-raiding guilds that cap at 60 still use them (I should know, I get commissions to make them now and then on my old mostly-unplayed orc shaman), so how 'bout we not remove that little link to Ony's past, huh?

    Edited to add:

What I'd personally like to see is most faction barriers removed, like they have been in Rift. So LFD/LFR/etc can be cross faction, you can group with friends cross faction to run dungeons (or even neutral quests!) together, even have cross-faction guilds. And when the number of people queueing for a BG is horribly imbalanced, no problem, some of the extras get "mercenary" status and play for the other side. Makes BG queues a hell of a lot shorter, I'll tell you that much.

Yes yes yes yes yes. I would totally support that. I've loved visual damage effects ever since playing Klingon Academy back in the early 2000's (and Bridge Commander later) and it something I'd definitely want to see in WoW.
