Yes, there is such a Korean word and yes it has nothing whatsoever to do with racisim.

This video is several years old. I remember it caused a huge scandal in the Far East expat community. They were so embarassed for months, especially the (very very) few black people who are there. It was all over Youtube too.

It reminds me of a story Indian co-worker told me one time.

It's quite a funny story, since he waited until after the meeting and asked co-worker what it was all about, and gotten it straightened out.

Well it's a pretty normal thing for people to go over to an Asian country and teach English for a year or two. It's a good way to explore a country without having to pay for it, and the major qualification is that you have to speak English fluently. It's not surprising that a few bad eggs slip through.
