There are plenty of glaived npc's in WoW, only not weapons outside the legendary ones.
There is a reason they are Legendary.

I'm glad there isn't any in game yet because i would be pretty mad if someone had a glaive to that someone has been farming for years.

I'm not saying there's some clear cut line, where Blizz went "ok, get rid of everyone who worked on WoW before 2007", or anything like that, but hasn't the dev team experienced 100% turnover by now?

Well, the obvious is because they're legendary weapons, so that look is supposed to stay only on that weapon in game. (excluding npcs)

Not all glaives in WoW universe are legendary. If Bob crafts one in Stormwind is it legendary?

I think glaives are just not very um....they're animation are not the easiest to make, and the weapon type is very debatable, everyone of the is a polearm besides the legendary one.

Even if those weapons have "glaive" in their name they aren't really the same type of weapons. All the weapons that resemble Warglaives of Azzinoth are basicly 2-bladed swords. I don't see a problem of there being those kinds of weapons as swords (just like Illidan's blades).

Nope.

The attack animations aren't already there, they just use the sword animations, and in the case of some classes, they slice right through their own bodies when swinging.

There are over 12 unique warglaive models in the game files, they are used commonly by NPCs, they are THE racial weapon for Night Elves and even High/Blood Elves use them.

They continue to make new glaive models, but deny them to the player community. This one in Cata's beta caused quite a stir before it ended up being WASTED (Imo) on NPCs.

They are one of the most quintessential images that evokes "Warcraft" as an atmosphere, so it's strange.
I personally feel they are being saved for demon hunters. Or they were once, before so many of demon hunter's abilities were gutted and cannibalized in an effort to throw a bone to demon hunter fans playing rogues and warlocks, which is bullshit if so.

This is just absurd. There are mundane warglaives all over every Night Elf settlement on the planet, and carried by hundreds of guards. Massive energy crackling glowing demonic glaives are legendary, but making all glaives off limits is just silly in my opinion.

The most suspicious thing about the issue is that the devs refuse to answer when pressed on this issue. If it was simply an issue of animations, like the Tauren log weapon, we would have been told in my opinion. But they continually do not answer when asked about this issue.

It's a good thing there aren't more in game, because it's all anyone would use and that would be dumb.

why there are blood elf guards who use glaives they should add more weapon varients in game

It seems other than the legendaries this is the closest thing to it you can get now that you can mog dual fists. Great for trolls, as it's a troll racial weapon.
