Shrine of Seven Stars / Two Moons Ganking

Not sure why we don't see more of this, but it is totally possible.

Here are the rules:

1) NPCs spawn the elite guards, they don't just randomly spawn.

2) There are a couple of pats you have to watch out for (ie. Donnelly Firecask) who spawn guards if they see you.

3) The NPCs are tightly packed around the entrances, so you need a rogue (or maybe a feral) to get in. Hunter and moonkin stealth is not strong enough.

4) The ethereals in the transmog / reforge rooms and the bankers do not spawn guards.

Basically, this means entire areas in the shrines can be ganked in. In the Shrine of Two Moons the portal room, bank, transmog room and the inner walkways are kill zones. It is harder in Shrine of the Seven Stars as the pats have further routes and there are NPCs in the bank and portal room which you have to stay clear of, nevertheless still entirely possible.

There's rogues that do this all the time on my server. It's pretty stupid. They really need to make NPC guards see through vanish. I'm all for World PvP combat on a PvP server, but its pretty dumb coming back to my computer dead in the center room of 2 Moons because of stupid smoke bomb openers killing in a couple seconds and restealthing. Not even that much other players can do to the rogue, as Cloak of Shadows makes them nearly un-CCable. Or just have more guards in the town.

I'm all for a dangerous world when you're actually out in the world. Not while you are doing banking/auctions.

The NPC guards do see through vanish. You can see the truesight buff above their heads multiple times in the video. That's why you have to use rocket boots etc. to get away. Smoke bomb openers don't make a lot of difference to the guards, only players. Also, attacking someone most places in the center room of Shrine of Two Moons will almost definitely spawn more than one guard and a rogue won't be able to get away. The inner walkway and the front entrance are another matter.

And it's great fun on PTR when you get 45-50% battle fatigue from players and 50% mortal strike from guards Try attack the gankers in the shrine...

I won't lie. The reason I made this thread with a good explanation of how it's done is so that it happens more often. The shrines being an active PvP zone enhances my gameplay.. one reason for that being that it makes people like you mad

I can see them changing it so it's more like Shattrath or Dalaran, but these places aren't neutral by any means. I wouldn't encourage it either, as I don't see the fun in killing players who are afk. Arenas and battlegrounds not enough for you, or are you really bored, that you have nothing better to do with your time? Do you get a laugh off of killing players who are afk? Doesn't make any sense to me.

If pissing in other ppls cherios is what you need to do to make your game play better then seek help, get a hug from somebody or something. If your enjoyment comes purely from the hope that somebody might have been upset by your act you are going to live a sad life.

This is really making me laugh now. The funniest thing about this is, that even now when I've shown you QQers, and people that will exploit the fact, that the Shrines aren't safe from PvP combat you'll probably STILL afk in there and hope that your lame attempts at shaming people for participating in perfectly legitimate gameplay will keep you safe. Meanwhile you will be justifiably killed, because not only can use not adjust to the harsh realities of a PvP server but you whine about it. By making you mad or cry like you are, I'm practically doing society a favour. Man up, girls.

Oh yeah and most of the people in the video are demonstrably not afk considering it is fairly obvious they are trying to run off hahahaha

You run back to your corpse and res. No durability loss, no gear loss.

If you want to be an internet badass preaching "hearsh realities" go do stuff in a game where losses matter. This is about as impressive as killing mana worms in a newbie zone.

on my server there seems to be the odd alliance ganking outside the shrine, where the flight path is, seem to be no guards there, and around the target dummies.

Harsh realities of a PvP server =/= CAPITOL cities not being safe. It's hardly justifiable when half-75% of the entire city has absolutely not guards. If this caught on more and more 2 moons would just become the Exodar or Silvermoon.

People are not arguing that it isn't legitimate, they are arguing that it is dumb that there's the ability of a class to kill a fully pvp geared toon inside of a cheap shot inside of a town that should have guards.
