Shame that's not a world war, each side would need many supporters. Who would go to which side? I think it's pretty obvious but some people would fight against others not to save NK but for other reasons.

That won't be a war. That will be child abuse. NK has one ally that wouldn't dare risk fighting us.

Honestly the next WW (If it happens) will be against Russia and the US. You laugh, but Putin is an extraordinary leader. His Machiavellian politics, the ways he's been exploiting Russia's natural resources, and overhauling Russia's military all illustrate his intent to make Russia a superpower once again. It won't be today. It won't be tomorrow... but 10-20 years from now they'll be a force to be reckoned with.

But you know what? I don't think his intention is US destruction or even imperialism. I think his intention is to see Russia as a major controlling power in the world. Completely independent from the United States. Power for the sake of power. So much so, in fact, that rejection of American international politics seems to be what drives Russia forward.

I think you're right. They seem to stay out from world wars, and be far enough not to be destroyed when nukes start flying.

But I think as long as US has a huge military superiority over any one nation, there won't be a world war, and so escalation to nukes wouldn't happen.

I honestly believe we are at a point where world war is not gonna happen. To much media covering to corrupt a big powerful nation, natural resource are cheaper to replace than fighting for them, religion and cultural differences aren't big enough to push such an agenda. Hopefully we and our children etc. will never see such a thing

There is only one scenario for a next World War, and that is when one of the super powers force another superpower or close friend (EU) to a political or religiious will that would reshape the political map. This is very unlikely to happen.

North Korea will never unleash a next World War, as the whole world agrees the way NK is ruled is wrong, that includes China. The only reason China and Russia would stand behind North Korea is because it would determine what country is the biggest super power. You simply can not cut loose your allies. North Korea is what Israel is for the US, well not exactly, but it is a political buffer. So, North Korea would only unleash a next cold war.

As for Russia, Putin understands that you can gain more power by trading, then by releasing war.
