Average DPS on Single Target Fights (Heroic)

personally i feel like i'm not doing doing the best DPS on any Single target fights during my guilds previous attempts and kills on heroic bosses i only tend to average around 130-160k during Fights like Ji-kun and Iron Qon and it just feels abit low for me.

is this me? can i do anything to boost my dps?

im still missing Legendary Meta and still have a few pieces of gear from the last tier

ive been reading a few topics about 4set shadow and people just say its plan bad would it be worth me using Al'set's Tormented Leggings the heroic ones and the Lighting Gauntlets instead of tier pieces

People will only be able to give you an idea of what you could be doing better if you provide an armory link and a link to WoL parse for the fights in question. That's the only way to get really specific feedback, otherwise it's just the general info covered in the guide and stuff.
