how do you benchmark this fight? As in by X nest what should the boss health be at? How do you know things are going well if youre behind if youre ahead. At what percent do you say forget the platforms and all in the boss lust pots etc?

3 healing Holy pally, Disc priest, Resto Shaman. double prot pally tanks. team A gets nest 7 team B gets nest 8. What % more or less should the boss be at by that time.

By the start of the 3rd cycle of nests (#13), the boss should be below 30% and you zerg it. You can also drop some dps down to pick up feathers on 13 before you zerg it for more buffs.

Everything before that is just about clearing the nests.

I'd say 30-50% after the 8th nest, depends a bit on your gear. 100% focus on boss should be possible after the 8th or 12th nest depending on how low the boss is.

gear wise we are roughly 521-525. I goofed and didnt notate what % the boss was at by the time we got to nest 6. But for the most part there are no juveniles running around and egg force 1 and egg force 2 know where to go. Just fine tuning to get a kill.

We 2 heal it, boss needs to be less than 40% by the time the 8th nest is done. We burn after 9th and let 10th run free.

If you are 3 healing it you will need to do another couple of nests I'd imagine, slightly sub 30% would be ideal just after a feed the young so you can collect poop for a dps bonus and burn.

There's no point going for nest 14 and 15 because Ji-Kun will berserk when those adds have barely showed up. We 3 heal it and when we've done nest 13, Ji-Kun is usually around 20-25%. We can probably all-in a bit earlier but this has worked out for us.

For your first kill, I wouldn't worry about what % the boss is at a given time especially when 3 healing. Focus on making it successfully through the 12th nest. Have 4 DPS go down for the 13th Nest to get feathers, wait until after Downdraft then have everyone get Feed Young and Heroism. If you do all that right and you still wipe to Berserk then you can start worrying about DPS.

On our first kill, while 3 healing, we lost somebody halfway through the fight (knocked off by Down Draft then Quills) and we still didn't have a problem beating the Berserk.

What % the boss is at is entirely irrelevant. The only dps requirement is to get the nests down before juveniles, assuming that you get your buffs stacked properly the boss automatically dies once you get the nest 13 feathers+pop bl regardless of health (most grps, especially if 2 healing, will be able to bl and burn before that though). If it wasn't for the fact that the healing requirement in general is a joke as well I'd say that you just should 4 heal the fight, all that matters is to have the healing+dps+execution to get to nest 13/14, the berserk is completely irrelevant.

Including our first kill we also went for 8 nests and ignored the rest. The boss is around 20% now when we nuke. He used to be as high as 45%. If you have 1 grp flying for nests and another grp only taking 2 nests purely for feathers to increase their dps you will gain alot of boss dps.

On our first kill, we stopped doing nests after nest 8 with 3 healers. We pop lust after the next downdraft/nutrient buffs after we've stopped the boss was usually around 50% when we stopped doing nests. Our second kill, we 2 healed, and stopped doing nests after nest 4, same thing with waiting for a downdraft and the DPS grabbing nutrient buff then popping hero. With all of our DPS having nutrients, and no fear of a downdraft happening the boss will drop from ~50% to near death(10-15%) in the duration of a heroism.

We 2-healed and did it by burning after 8 nests. I think the boss was around 35% when the 8th nest was dead and after that dropped ridiculously fast with BL and everyone having a nutrient buff.

we do , all lower nest. all top nests then all lower nests agian and then go on the boss till he's dead.

Lower nests have egg layers, so they will spawn very large quantities of Juveniles. Upper nests just have 2 eggs each, so they'll spawn 2 juveniles per nest. If you have him at 30%-40% or so after the 9th nest Lower (comes simultaneously with 10th nest Upper), you can just skip all the upper nests (10, 11 and 12) and nuke him down. It's possible to nuke before that, but if you start nuking when a lower nest is activating, you want to make sure you can kill him pretty quickly. A lower nest left alone can wipe you very quickly when the juveniles arrive if you take too long.

If you have good dps you can start nuking him earlier, and get a kill before you get a large amount of juveniles. If you had dps like that, you'd probably have killed him already though.
