Question about the D3 console versions

I've got some questions for you. I hope some of you know the answer.

1) If you buy a console version, will this version be linked to your current pc version? Meaning will you be able to play with your current characters on a console version?

2) Will you be able to co op in split screen?

Yeah it's most likely that it's like the old co-op game "double dragon" where you can go as far as the edge of the screen. Until the other player closes the distance and then you can move forward with your toon's nose against the edge and get clobered by monsters that you couldn't see beforehand.
