    Do away with talents period.

So I am a casual gamer and to be honest I get tired of hearing all the fodder about "no talent should be any more popular than the other" There is no way to make all three talents in a certain tier be taken by an equal amount of people. I get so tired of them having to adjust one because another is not being taken by as many players as they like. Get over it Blizz, no matter how well you adjust and think talents are equal, there will always be one most gravitate to. There will always be one better for pvp,or one better for pve. You Cant Not Make cookie cutter builds, its impossible. Instead I vote they just give every class the same talents, no choosing or deciding what to take, then everyone will be on the same playing field and we wont have to hear Blizz complaining and nerfing a talent because x percentage of players are taking that talent over the other two. What do you guys think?

I think it's a bad idea. The current talent system is already so watered down. It is less complicated, that part I like but it feels pretty empty imo.

It's so easy to swap talents now anyway, I don't see the point of dropping them. Not every single pally, rogue, hunter etc, should be the exact same. That is so boring, you need to leave something up to the player.

What does you being a casual gamer have to do with this?

i think we have a better platform to work off of now then ever before. sure some are better in some situations. thats the intent. that was what bliz was trying for all along. you choose the talents best suited for your area of fun. whats happening imo, is that there are some choices but there is one talent in every few tiers that somehow stand above the others for some reason. whether it works much better with set bonuses, or trinkets, or some other special proc.. so it needs to be modified to keep it inline.

some talents looked great in the beta but players are extremely smart, and the fact there is just many more players on live then on any beta/ptr means the chance to find something not meant to be is exponentially higher. and then some talents simply fell flat after implemented. but regardless, its a very good platform to continue working from to make talents give you a special uniqueness.

my answer: no, they dont need to be removed.

"So I am a casual gamer" lol ok but this doesnt entitle you anything more or less

there will always be cookie cutter build for certain comp and no tgeting rid of current talent thing wont help "solve" the problem

they had it so you can switch talent before arena swap so you know what talent to choose from so i think its working fine

Also, all classes should have the same abilities, with their only defining difference being the armor model they wear.

It's an RPG - the concept of loveling up and deciding how to build and play your character is paramount - the end!

Amazing sig, done by mighty Lokann

Does anyone else feel that since the new talent tree system (or lack thereof) that the game has lost its lust for most people? They dumbed down the game to basic moves and talents that are so very basic in nature. It does not allow for a full bloom of the game or character development. What say YOU!

Ya cause cookie cutter / looking on WoWhead for builds wasn't easy anough. /sarcasm

Even if the new talent system is watered down, I like its flexibility & the choice its gives me. I got more choices with the new watered down one than I had with the 98% stat buffs & 1 or 2 abilities they had in a tree. Ya more choices would be nice, but it will just create more cookie cutter talents / builds. Ya some talents are pretty obvious already in the new one, but atleast we have the option to switch it up on the fly if something doesn't work. You have your favourite talents / build you always keep and switch around if you need too. But the days of just loading up WoWhead for the best build is over and better stay that way.

The old system was not better, it was very linear only 1 direction / path worked. People say they tried different builds, but don't lie to yourself that you actually used those builds in a raid or dungeon you would of never got far with them.

Did you even think this through, or just posted it in frustration?

Homogenisation is bad, what's the point in having a different looking class, with a different named specialisation yet nothing is special? We have moved towards homogenisation a lot especially in Cataclysm, and slightly away in MoP.

    Blizzards problem are
    A. They don't take enough customer feedback into account
    B. There is too much convoluted crap that the majority of idiot players feel is good feedback.

    Catch 22?

and so we have a scenario where Blizzard introduce something good, that is different, that requires a bit more skill? but players come out in force and QQ the forums and so Blizzard cater to them.
Then soon after said players want the change reverted and Blizzard think to themselves 'these guys don't know what they want'.
With idiots on forums asking for their class to be OP, the people with genuinely brilliant and elegant solutions are not recognised by Blizzard.
There is also the arrogance that Blizzard refuse to have community come up with a better solution than them, but if a middle ground were to be established it would be hell of a lot more balanced game.

**Sorry thought i just add a simple way to do this. Get the names of players with great ideas isolated into a special forum, have them brainstorm, invite them to Blizzard HQ, give them a salary, result all player balance problems solved.

The low level comparison is not the point. This is a high level "making a decision" comparison. Making decisions between two incredibly complicated things is difficult for a new player and not interesting for a player who's absorbed that knowledge, and artificially increases the time needed to learn how to use their buttons- Do you really want a game where you need to read a textbook just to understand how your class operates? Most classes have something in the field of 50 abilities; do you really want to add five additional clauses to every single one of them? The current system is too simple, sure, but going too far in the other direction is just as bad.
If you are particularly bold, you could use a Shiny Ditto. Do keep in mind though, this will infuriate your opponents due to Ditto's beauty. Please do not use Shiny Ditto. You have been warned.

I don't know, I feel like most of the 'dumbing down' has just been simplification and quality of life changes for many of the classes. Hunters in particular had a lot of button bloat; things like making trap launcher passive and macroing Hunter's Mark into many core abilities may be 'dumbing down' to you but you knowing or being able to hunter's mark a mob before laying in for an attack doesn't make you better at the game; it just makes you the one who deals with the bloat and someone starting playing now different.

As far as talent bloat, most of the old talent system was bloated beyond repair, cookie cutter NEEDED talents forced anyone trying to raid at a competitive level or even ones that don't to pick those 5/5 damage increase talents (that are no fun) and the current system I feel is neat; it gives you a few things to think about on an encounter by encounter basis with an easy method to change them on the fly.

Nope. And AFAIK Blizzard is fully aware of the levelling experience in which the levels between rewards (fx new talents) is too great and they want to adress this, move along.

Hey, you know what else they can't balance perfectly? Everything!
Let's do away with the entire game..

I like talents when they can be spread down different tree's like 15\30\5. I know blizzard was going for "meaningful choices" but that's not what is happening right now, when you go into any pve/pvp fight you can see what talents are clearly better, if not you can look it up online and someone will tell you why which talent wins out over the other with spreadsheets and math.
