Lightbulb Brawler's Guild - Rogue Tactics and Tips (Rank 8+)

    Hello everyone.
This thread i opened to show Rogue tactics in fights with bosses 8+ rank of Brawler's Guild. (why 8+? Because from 1 to 8 levels the fights was very easy, all bosses dead from 1st try in zerg mode).
Discuss here any strategy and tactics for any bosses, give your oppinion, advices and tips for Rogues.

Special & Rare Bosses (Additional achievement "Now You're Just Showing Off"):
First three bosses isnt difficult at all. All killed from a few attempts, except Disruptron.

    • Zen'shar
Just stay in the center of arena (as showed on video) to avoid all lasers.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibz-zAgGDFk

    • Millhouse Manastorm
Get a Shuriken Toss from talents and hit all crystals that you cant stack on yourself. (you can do it with focus to save some time).
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32o5NVKHRV4

    • Epicus Maximus
Strafe from side to side all the time and put more attention to laser (the hardest part in this fight).
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNsmj-N8x4w

    • Disruptron Mk. 3R-Alpha
Hardest boss on this rank. Only 5% Rogues can kill it. Tips: Use first pre-potion before boss appeares, save your bursts for last-phase (35%). On the last phase the boss will activate 4/5 machines - its your time ti burst. Put smokeboms under yourself, kidney boss, use 2nd prepot and deal as much dmg as u can. Good luck 2 everyone.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0CTJdaC2Tw

Challenge Card Bosses (Additional achievement "Deck Your Collection"):

    • Grandpa Grumplefloot
One of the easiest boss. No special tips, just strafing and damaging like in fight with Tyson Sanders.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdTj5zAuD0c

    • Master Boom Boom
One of the easiest boss. No special tips, just strafing and damaging avoiding all bombs and dynamits.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uHmmNS7y4g

    • Mecha-Bruce
No problems for ranges, but melee need a little to run to the opposite side when he casts Stasis Beam. Easy boss at all.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhKfFTvJgNE

    • Ty'thar
The easiest way to avoid all kicks is to move to the same side from what Tythar is going to kick.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WbBR1KiHR4

    • Dippy & Doopy
The only one problem that can appears is when the boss is in corner / near the wall, the cast is not always interrupts even by FoK so you need 2 b rdy to use spring and run out.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKdZidDD0kg

    • Razorgrin
No problems for ranges, melee need to avoid face to face situation, but i killed it with full kite for fun.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTvaQVHxZBU

    • Splat
Just kite Splat around big circle and spawning adds will not damage you.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TuqSzq6yj0

    • The Bear and the Lady Fair
Nothing difficult for ranges, but melee should a little run and jump. Ignore bear, stun lady. Shadowstep OP.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8c3YDtrkf04

    • Blingtron 3000
You need to create a chain of electricity through the small robots and then Blingtron will become available for damaging (+900%) but if you have good DPS you can try to kill him without chain. If you use minimum quality graphics - switch on middlle if you dont see rocket areas.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hf_Ms-74mcM

    • Ro-Shambo
First round of paper stone scissors is a random, but even if you lose it, you can control Scissors like me on video and kill the boss easily, avoiding stones. The second round its impossible to lose.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKrIIOngsNw

    • Blind Hero
Tactic is default: run & damage. Run around boss from fast shots, stay behind boss while he casting cone ability and avoid all round aoe (radious is pretty big). Sprints are welcomed.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3GN-0oZSMA

    • Mingus Diggs
The hardest boss of all other card bosses. Boss is DPS, speed and cooldown distribution check, where itemlevel is recommended 525+. Delete Vendetta glyph, Leeching poison is recommended. Use Combat Readiness + 2 Evasions, Blind and Smoke Bomb. Use 2 prepots. Burst first monument with ShadowBlades, the second with Vendetta. Then put Rupture on the 3rd and switch to the fourth. Delete stacks by Cloack on the 50% of second statue. Sprint/Shadowstep is obligatory .To understand the rotation of cooldowns you need to check my video kill and make some tries. Good luck Rogues!
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ntu_2tZfyA

    Rank 8 Bosses

    • Hexos
First and hardest boss on this rank. Get a "Cheat Death" talent - it gives you the second chance. Here is no tips, just practics and be attentive.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQsxH2i8Avw

    • Tyson Sanders
Second boss of this rank. Zerg-tactic: just run over the whole arena and damage boss, avoiding the explosion chickens that deals pretty much damage.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ocf-txD7NI

    • T440 Dual-Mode Robot
Third boss of Rank 8. Robot has a 2 phase - melee and range. Make 10 stacks in melee then run out from boss and he drop all stacks. Repeat it 2-3 times and got it.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fRvqE3zzHg

    • Anthracite
The last boss on this rank. A little more harder than previous two, but not so much. Tip than i didnt do on my video: kill one water lemental BEFORE using 1st stun - it gives you time in future. To stun the boss you must stay backwards to him. When you damaging boss while he isnt in stun - he reflects alot of damage, this is not advisable. With good dmg you can kill him in 2 stuns.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LBUFo2UuB4

    Rank 9 Bosses

    • Big Badda Boom
Use 1 FoK => 1 cp Rupture on each bomb. Feint is OP. Keep feint permanently when bombs are die. Leeching poison is better than Cheat Death.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upWAaGKghKQ

    • Nibbleh
Switch from run to walk by button "/" and kite snake backwards from outside to inside to the center. Dont stop and dont use any sprints, if Nibbleh stops for 1 second he gains 1 stack of buff that is deadly and impossible to survive.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6oHTAGK-g1w

    • Doctor FIST
The same mechanic as Blind Hero from challenge card. Walk around boss and run out from aoe damage (pretty big radius).
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R96TR2taA0Y

    • Ahoo'ru
Last boss of Rank 9. You must damage 3 angels until 50% than they dash into boss (not into you coz dmg is lethal). On second phase you need only burst boss interrupting time to time the healing cast and run out from the circle of spheres (use Shadowstep - you tp to the back of boss and avoid all spheres). Save Cloak of Shadows on the berserk if you dont have enough dps and cant kill in time. GL everyone.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpdx9If60SU

    ===================

P.S: I will update this thread as often as i can to show you the general mechanics of Rank 9 and new Rare bosses ofc.

Good luck and wish you to kill them all easily ;3

    few extra tips for:

    disruptron.

    - use crippling poison, not having to chase him does wonders. if at ~40% hes away from the middle turret shiv 70% slow onto him.
    - gouge works for interupting him, use dirty tricks talent + gouge glyph.
    - the pulses from the cannons are physical dmg, Glyph CoS and get druid symbo taunt if possible for the reduction

    Epicus:

    - blue crush (the interupt) always comes within 1-3 seconds of the laser cast finishing. (can be Cloaked if u fail)
    - rotate defensive cd during his melee swing phases (after blue crush) evasion, combat readiness, prep, evasion.

    Millhouse:

    - always be aware of where the new totems spawn, if you soak BOTH of the totems that spawn as soon as they spawn he will reset stacks, there is no need to dps totems ever in this fight unless u get very bad rng in which case its probably a wipe anyway due to enrage.

    T440 Dual-Mode robot:

    - prevent his first assault mode cast as much as possible, kidney and gouge both work and possibly blind. u can burst him down to about 60% before he even enters his assault mode.

    rank 9:

Big bomb boss (or whatever hes called)

    - Feint is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OP here, glyph it and use it.
    - leeching poison is recommended
    - the melee swings of the add stack combat readiness (save for the last 20-30 secs) evasion helps a little too.
    - CoS provides immunity to explosions (use name plates and pop when lots are about to die.
    - burst down the first bomb asap, vendetta + pre pot.
    - use shadow blades to help u spread as many ruptures as possible via FoK.

    Nibbleh:

    - bind backpeddle to a comfortable key
    - for movement u can either repeatably tap backpeddle (slightly annoying imo)
    - or bind another comfortable key to toggle walk. toggle walk + backpeddle is the perfect speed. this only really works in straight lines and unless u toggle it off again whilst turning corners he will likely enrage.
    - annoying boss, other than the moving its just a dps check.

    Doctor fist:

    - 4x dodge then 1x 360 aoe (use sprint)

    Ahoo'ru:

    - do not dps when he spawns, u waste all trinket + dancing steel procs (he heals once he shields)
    - i personally tried to kill the angels on the edge then Shadow step to the centre once they hit 50%
    - divine circle debuff in p2 can be cloaked
    - 4 set helps massively with the dps check in p2.

    Mingus diggs:

    - ~160k dps check, 520 ilvl + recommended
    - pre pot + shadow blades the first statue.
    - Shadow step the 2nd statue and use vendetta, use COS to reset stacks midway through this statue and leave it at 10% (ur dots will finish it)
    - sprint to 3rd apply 5 CP rupture and then shadow step 4th
    - stay on the 4th until around 10% and go back to 3rd leaving ur dots to kill it.
    - kill this statue and then boss.
    - mingus' melee swings will stack combat readiness also so use when u feel the need.
    - unglyph vendetta.
    - make use of redirect.
    - marked for death may be a better talent choice but i killed it with anticipation.

Nibbleh keeps stopping when I'm kiting in a straight line. It's really annoying. :/

mingus diggs was quite a challenge to me even though I had 538 ilvl.
    a few more tips:

-I made a macro for blind to use on mingus after the first combat rdyness ran out so I wouldnt have to switch targets.
-I glyphed whatever it is called that reduces armor on your target for only 25 energy, useful on everything and a lot of other fights aswell in brawlers guild.
-secondary poison should be leeching as the other poisons are useless in this fight. elusiveness might be an option too but it costs energy which means a dps loss...

as for ahooru I also tried killing the angels outside and then shadowstepping back to ahooru but I noticed that every second time I get instant killed by the spheres right after shadowstep. sometimes it wouldnt even show up in the combat log, I assume its a bug. but if you have enough dps for mingus then you should be fine for the fight against ahooru.

I have a great tip for Ahoo'ru, I thought of the idea myself and the first time I tried it, it worked and I killed the boss.

If you can make it to P2, you'll notice during divine circle that the orbs will always hit you (I'm assuming that bug still hasn't been fixed since I haven't been to the Brawler's for a few weeks now).
If you have Archmage Vargoth's Staff (http://www.wowhead.com/item=28455/ar...vargoths-staff), you can shadowstep to the summoned mage, meaning you can shadowstep out of the Divine Circle and avoid getting hit by all the orbs. I recommend using the staff once P2 hits as well (it has an instant cast so you don't miss out on any dps)

it is a nice tip , tho you only have 2 circles during phase 2 You can cloak the first one , and just smoke bomb the second if u take only one orb it isnt a big issue at all.Since you pop vendetta shadow blades at this phase leeching poisons top you quite nicely.

Ah, I was under the impression most rogues went with Cheat Death or Elusiveness for the fight and not leeching
And the main reason why I found it vital to dodge the orbs at all costs was because for me and a few others attempting Ahoo'ru, we would never get one stack, we would always get 2-4 stacks of the debuff which would lead to a painful death

You can also wait in the very center of the circle, and shadowstep to Ahoo'ru himself once the center of his hitbox is out of the circle. You need to wait quite a bit, actually, and it'll seem like all the balls are about to hit you when the moment is right to shadowstep.

I saw a video of a rogue doing that when I was trying to down him but some of the comments said it was fixed so I never attempted it myself, can you confirm that it's still working?

What's the AddOn in the Epicus Maximus video that shows you timers for your buff durations?
Looks kinda like RoguePowerBars, but that stopped working for me at some point..

It's working. Just make sure you pull the boss away from the ring because they explode once they meet in the middle, and it will 1shot you if you just stand where you end up with ShS.

Weird. Maybe one of my other AddOns is screwing with it.. or I should try the Curse version instead of WoWInterface. Hrm. Thanks

Also I can't wait for a dagger to drop.. I'm so sick of combat, but Kura-Kura is the strongest weapon I have..

I wasn't replying to you. "It's working" was in response to ShSing the ring, which is the post I quoted.

I have no idea what addon is used in the video or if RoguePowerBars is working. You can probably replicate whatever you're looking for with WeakAuras though.

If you stun Dr. FIST while he casts the 360º aoe he won't recast it again and start the cycle/rotation of skills again.

This will either end up in the links section or stickied - we try to avoid having too many threads stickied at any one time, but I want everyone to know this is far from forgotten.

I am currently stuck on Hexos. I actually get a headache from that fight and can only have 2-3 attempts before needing a rest! I have been told by a friend that using something like Kgpanels and putting a vertical line through the centre of the screen so you are always aware of exactly what you are facing can help.

Cool Tips and Tricks. What worked for me.

I have beaten every single fight in Brawler's Guild as a Mut rogue (including all challenge card fights) so I thought I'd give my two cents on some select fights.

    Disruptron Mk. 3R-Alpha

This guy drove me insane. I put more effort and attempts in by far, on this one fight, than any other fight in there. I was obsessed with beating it, and eventually did, by the skin of my teeth.

    • Pre pot and get in position behind him where he spawns
    • Use crippling poison to slow him down and don't forget you can Shiv it to slow him down even more if needed.
    • Spec Dirty Tricks and glyph for gouge. Use Gouge to interrupt his cast. (you can also out-range it. The call is yours to make depending on the situation)
    • Make a macro to cast Shadow Blades, Vendetta, and Brawler's pot at the same time so you don't waste precious time clicking each of them, when it gets hairy and there's other stuff you need to be dodging and worrying about.
    • The lasers follow the same pattern. Although it is possible to get familiar with it, personally I didn't find that it helped that much, as Disruptron could be anywhere at any time, at any attempt, with any turret activated. Nonetheless it's good to know.
    • spec Cheat Death. Instead of getting one-shotted by a laser you'll live. This is so key. Especially at the end when it get's insane. The little extra time that cheat death gives you could be the difference between beating him and not (as was the case with me).
    • glyph recup for when you survive something with cheat death, you can regen health quicker, and it's psychologically better than staring at your health bar almost depleated. It could also potentially help with surviving a hit by a sonic pulse. With this fight it's not over until the fat lady sings.

    Hexos

    • spec Cheat Death. It basically lets you make a free mistake. You should be really grateful you have this as a rogue for this fight.
    • The goal is to not let Hexos hit the purple. If you're having trouble, try looking at the shadow dot underneath him and use that as a point to navigate the maze.
    • Don't be a clicker and mouse turn (obviously)

    Ahoo'ru

    Phase 1
    • use Burst of Speed to get around the arena faster. Every second counts.
    • Don't bother attacking him when he spawns with the intent of damaging him. However, I found it helpful to attack him to build CPs to start a 5pt recup.
    • use BoS to zip over to an angel. If there's another one nearby, spawn that one too, and try to dps them so they charge at roughly the same time.
    • don't try to juggle three angels at once. You can still beat the fight by getting two to charge at the same time and just hauling butt to get the third one down. (unless you actually think you can. Personally I didn't have the skill for it, and had much more success at just doing two and the third one after)
    • The angels don't actually need to 'blow up' on him, they just need to charge through him.
    • Once an angel finishes it's "charge" cast, just run away and concentrate on wherever you need to go next. The angel will run to the point you were at when it finished it's cast.

    Phase 2
    • bring him to the side of the arena that will maximize your time when enrage hits. You will likely need every second.
    • glyph Evasion for extra survival.
    • You can cloak the orbs.
    • If you're a BE, don't forget about Arcane Torrent for a back-up interrupt. Really helpful if you get in the situation where he's casting a full heal, but you also need to run away to get out of the orb circle.
    • he can be disarmed.

Misc. note: Apparently it used to be possible (some say it still is) to ShS out of the orb circle and behind Ahoo'ru once the circles are almost about to hit you. I didn't have success with this, and assumed that Blizz changed it. However, you may want to test this yourself.

    Mingus Diggs

The glyphs I used for this fight were:

    • Evasion
    • Recuperate
    • Sprint

The strategy I was successful with:

First off, it's pretty much mandatory to have flask, food, and at least a couple buffs from other classes (unless your gear is ridiculously good. My ilvl was 530 at the time, and it still seemed virtually impossible to put out the dps to beat enrage without buffs.)

I went one statue at a time until they were all down, since my gear wouldn't allow me to waste time bouncing back and forth between them.

Pre-pot and pop everything on first statue and melt it. Also pop Combat Readiness when Leeching doesn't cause overhealing. You'll likely have a bunch of CP left over. Put up recup with them and ShS to the next statue. Continue dps and pop Cloak when you hit around half health or so. Not long after ShS to the second statue pop smoke bomb and evasion also (before having to use cloak).

When second statue is about dead pop Sprint and head close enough to the nearest statue and BLIND IT! It seems many people don't realize you can CC the statues. Then ShS to the remaining statue. At this point your potion is back up. Pop it and dps hard. Pray your trinks also proc. Hit prep and pop evasion again. You can get a small recup going if you don't think you'll live. When this statue is almost dead, ShS to the final statue and dps it down.

Now you just have Mingus, with a measly 800k health pool. He'll get destroyed. Even if enrage is falling don't get discouraged as his health will fall FAST.

I've seen strats where you split up your CDs instead of popping them all at once. I tried this strat and it just never worked as good for me, but it's also something that you can experiment with yourself.
