    Request for Help on a custom build.

    Hi guys, I'm planning on getting a new computer, and am quite clueless when it comes to hardware, so some experienced input would be invaluable.

    I have about 1000$ to use.

    I want a gaming pc which will let me play in high/ultra for WoW, while being able to use fraps/streaming. I have my keyboard/mouse/headset all figured out.

    One thing to note is that, I'm looking to use an i7 processor since it has an integrated gfx chip (?) and so makes the need for a gfx card rather moot. HOWEVER, if, by your input, you guys advise that buying a gfx card with a similar but perhaps less pricey processor might be worth it, thats awesome too (assuming the end bill comes close to 1k $. I also personally would like to get an Solid state hard drive, it doesn't have to be spacey, since i dont use that much hard disk space, something along 250GB should be fine. (this is only if I have money to spare without sacrificng too much performance).

    I'm guessing what I'll need is;

    Processor
    RAM
    Motherboard
    Sound Card ( ?)
    Graphics card* (?)
    Solid State Drive* (only if enough leftover)

    Finally, I'd like a Monitor. Preferably something bigger than 19".

    I actually have no idea, if I'm asking for too much for my money's worth, but that's why i wanted to put in the "optional" stuff, to see if it could work. I know this is a really weird request what with so many variables, but if anyone could put in any input, I'd be forever grateful.

    Thanks

    Include the following information when posting a request.

    Budget
    Resolution
    Games / Settings Desired
    Any other intensive software or special things you do (Frequent video encoding, 3D modeling, etc)
    Country
    Parts that can be reused
    Do you need an OS?
    Do you need peripherals (e.g. monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers, etc)?

    Ideally include a list of parts, we see the same request almost every day. There are other topics that have parts lists that you can copy and modify.

    Currently making a sample build from what information I was able to get, hold on.

    You're not able to afford an i7 without making huge sacrifices, that said, i7 will yield little to no gain while gaming. The i5-4570k is more than enough to stream at 720p provided you've configured OBS correctly.

    Building a gaming PC without a GPU is stupid really, GTX 670, which was(and is still) a very popular GPU, is about 11 times stronger(according to Passmark G3D Mark score) than Intel HD 4000(Ivy bridge integrated).

    $1000 is pushing it for an i7 setup if you still need a monitor.

  4. #4
    Ahh yea sorry, i though ti included the bulk of the ones you listed, sorry :/ Here goes.

    Budget = 1000$
    Resolution = (I honestly don't know, what a 21/23" monitor uses), 1280/1080? I think :/
    Games = World of Warcraft, High (preferably Ultra)
    Intensive Softwares = Perhaps frapsing WoW
    Country = Belgium
    Parts that can be reused = none, its all pretty old stuff.
    Need OS = nope
    Peripherals = Monitor, pref bigger than 19", a decent off-headset microphone.

    Sorry for the lack of clarity in the OP, hope this is enough.

    TehTerokkar -

    I see mate, well thats fine then, i just mentioned i7 because i thought it would workout overall. But if overall it'd be better to have a lesser processor, but with a gfx card. Thats fine too.

    Cheezus -

    Wow you are awesome mate, i saw you put in the OS in there, my current license hasn't expired as of yet, so it can still be used. If anything, can the build be improved by taking off those 90$. Or should i just count my blessings that it costs 90$ less ?

    For another $90 you should be able to swap the HD7850 with a GTX660 Ti or increase the SSD to a 240-256GB version (lotsa games!) if 128GB isn't enough. If you don't need the additional SSD space, I'd take the better GPU option.

    The biggest concern here is that you're from Belgium, I have no idea which "popular" online store ships there and so for the varied stuff like Case/PSU/Monitor you may not find the specific models Cheezus has listed. Not too much of a biggie since there are plenty of options.

    Yea I;m starting to realize, a lot of these parts are from Newegg and Micro Center, both of which don;t really ship to Europe :/

    What is your budget in € since we don't use $ in the EU?

    €800 is a bit low for what you are asking. You are going to have to do a lot of compromises to fit that budget.

    Ahh figures.. :/

    Erm I added the few optional things in there. Is the budget feasible if i forego an SSD drive?

    Yes. I think. This is a quote from a build I assembled on Komplett.be

    The total for this came to this: Totaal (incl. verzendkosten): € 767,60

    The best SSD for the price on that site is Samsung 840 Series 120gb for €83,95 but it was going over budget so I cut it out.

    I'll leave it to you if you can read that language -_-

    Oh crap, completely forgot about monitor. But I don't know what to doooooo, I've cut the build down as far as it goes without sacrificing performance! Seriously, you should be able to find a cheap 21-23" monitor (resolution 1920x1080) at any local tech store for peanuts. Look for anything from Acer, Asus, LG, Samsung, Viewsonic etc and you'll be good, they go on sale all the time.

    Here's the links, much friendlier than an image:
    CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K
    Cooler: CM Hyper 212 EVO
    Mobo: MSI Z87-G43
    RAM: Kingston HyperX Blu 8GB
    GPU: MSI HD7870 Ghz Edition
    HDD: WD Caviar Blue 1TB
    PSU: Corsair CX500M
    Case: Fractal Design Core 3000

    I think you also get a bunch of game vouchers with that CPU and GPU, some kind of promotion? Dunno.

    Alright sounds great. What kindof resolution you reckon i should be able to get with this build? Assuming 21" - 23" ofc. I was just searching google at it said smth like 1920 - 1080. Thats pretty high for me so I;m not quite sure.

  15. #15
    Something like this should be decent for you http://www.alternate.be/Acer/Acer+G2...duct/1020980/?

    Edit: removed the LG due to only having VGA input.

    I forgot about the CPU cooler, post above edited. It adds another €25-30 to the total but it's an absolute must-have with that CPU.

    It's not high at all, 1920x1080 (more commonly known as 1080p) became the "standard" gaming resolution like ~5 years ago and you'll love it!
    With a game like WoW being so interface-heavy, a proper resolution is a must to get everything looking crisp and sharp. You can down-scale the interface and still clearly see everything i.e. more of the game

    The Acer suggested above is great for the price.

    Also I can't stop laughing at "Winkelwagen". Ehuehuehuehuehue.

    Wait wait wait, did you order the CPU cooler? I added it just now. It's important for the build!

    Also, build guide:
