I must admit, from a troll standpoint it's pretty genius. They make us Wrathions bitch for an entire expansion running around doing a massive tedious annoying scavenger hunt only to give us a cloak that most people will hide. Pretty good joke. I agree with spammeister though, the joke will be the continuation of sub losses.

Because back then, we found some icons linked with the legendary questline.
We saw the shapes of a sword, of a shield, of a staff, and even a pistol, and more. No cloak.
So, and in the end we get a f*ing cloak?? What a grave disappointment, seriously...
Edit 1:
Back then = before MoP launch. blizz announced legendary for all and posted the icons...
Changed 'gun' to 'pistol'
Edit 2:
Okay they maybe got a joker with the Golden Lotus quest reward. However, the chance is little those items mentioned above will make it. And that's very bad. To announce & show something and then throw it away. I remember Path of the Titans which was screwed, yes, but this is different...

We are as God intended. Fallible, yet capable of great things.
No, nobody would quit the game over one little thing. But when you have pvp being gutted to help pve'rs, when you have them refusing to make new dungeons, when you have them forcing zones into crz etc etc, at a certain point not getting a weapon is enough to push you over the edge.
Hopefully next expansion there won't be a "legendary" questline. Legendaries should just die already, they were awesome back in Classic but they have no place in modern wow.
Of-course it's not a weapon, that would make weapon raid drops (too many ilvls to typ) obsolete..
End of the legend questline is you can use all items of the quest line at oce..so you can put the +500 gem on your weapon or on your cloak. (prob. cloak as weapons switch too much)
Wrathion should thank us for our subscription money and weekly determination before upgrading the cloak imo
So what was difficult about the previous legendaries? Being in a guild that agreed to let you be the one to loot the items? Because that is the only additional difficulty point I can see between this questline and previous ones. 'Kill X creatures with Shadow's Edge, collect X random drop fragments'
Et cetera.
Probably going to be in the minority here, but I like the look of the cloaks. (I just hope they're not the legendaries; would much prefer a weapon.)
Just an FYI: This tweet is already obsolete, as the change went live in a hotfix a couple weeks back.Originally Posted by Blizzard Entertainment

How ridiculous would it be if everyone had legendary weapons though... This is without a doubt the most accessible legendary that Blizz has created (open to everyone, completable in LFR). Seeing 10+ legendary weapons in an LFR raid would cheapen the point of it.
I'm *glad* it's not a weapon... the power spike from a legendary weapon is too great for Blizz to balance raids around anyway. At least with a cloak that (hopefully) doesn't have too insane a special proc they don't have to inflate boss hp/damage to compensate.
It's an easy to get legendary (spend the time, get the gear - Every Raider Can Do It At The Same Time). A weapon is completely impractical.
RE the Legendary Chain:
I came back to MoP after All of ToT was open. I got to 90 and started the chain week one (perhaps 2 months ago). Currently at 10/20 Secrets of the Quiriaj. Eight to ten weeks and I'm through most of it simply from doing the raids - the only step that caused any issue was the two PvP matches as it was the first time I'd PvPed since BC Vengeful.
TLDR: It was Never going to be a weapon.

How many people do you know that have Valanir? or Shadowmourne? Droprate from normal sucked, If you just did normal, you made the shadowmourne when every1 simple didn´t care anymore. 1, MAX 2 Healers in a raid have Valanir in almost every guild. To achieve more legendary weapons you needed to do HEROIC. How many people will have the legendary cloak, EVERYONE. my ilvl 500 disc priest alt that i log 1 day a week will have it. What need to do to achieve it. LFR. Its an effort from an entire guild to kill bosses in heroic, or Illidan pre-nerf, or Kiljaeden in SWP.
Can't comment on pvp as I take no part but
New dungeons: Serve no point in MoP catch-up design, it made sense when there was no LFR.
CRZ: Complaining about multiple people occupying the same space as you in MMO? BLASHPEMY! Downside is you not getting that rare pet? Sucks to be you.
Legendary: A) you never were promised a weapon B) Complaining about PTR/unimplemented changes/features (seriously?)
Guys, the legendary is going to be the cape - there's a lot of evidence to back it up.
- One of the blues tweeted (paraphrased), "Who said anything about a weapon?", in response to someone asking about legendary weapons.
- The ilvl of the cloak is already way above even the predicted HC gear ilvl in 5.4
- There's going to be a cloak upgrade.
There is one piece of counter evidence though - the legendary weapon icons datamined in 4.3.4. It's been awhile since then though.
Not everyone likes to do LFR as their end game. There were a TON of people that didn't like raiding, 5 mans were their end game. They could go into them with friends and family and have FUN. Just because you love crz doesn't mean an overwhelming amount of people hate it. It always amuses me when people say not to complain about stuff in the ptr. So are we supposed to wait till it hits live to complain? The whole friggen point of the ptr is to test and gain feedback. It's not hard to understand.
