Not everybody can afford to throw money out of the window if they can't wait for few days. I for example had to RMA Asus P8P67Pro three times (fortunately to a local store so it took only few days) so the box came in handy.

Also I keep all the boxes because I often sell away my old parts in local online auction when I no longer need those and at that point having original packaing with all manuals, cables, drivers and often still warranty up is big bonus in both the price and desireability in the listings. Just last week I sold away AM3 mobo + cpu + 4GB RAM in the original mobo box, and the board still had 11 months of warranty left out of 36. It's easy sale when the buyer can still be comfortable with several months of manufacturer warranty left.

    edit:

Later I sold that damn P8P67pro in the auction with almost 2 years of warranty left in the original box with all accessories in pristine condition, leaving it as somebody else's problem. Replaced it with ASRock Z77 Extreme4 that I have with i5-2500K. Easily explains situations like the OP's computer.

Never going to log into this garbage forum again as long as calling obvious troll obvious troll is the easiest way to get banned.
    Trolling should be.
