Are you okay with the legendary this expansion?

I don't care that it's a cloak, I do care that some RNG favoured git LFR hero will be sporting this cloak when they do not need nor deserve it. Lucky on drops, LFR raids only, 600 ilvl legendary? Mind boggling really. I think legendaries should be a heroic only venture and have for the longest time but apparently devs don't feel that way. At the very least heroic raiders shouldn't have any RNG to deal with, all the crap they need should be 100% from heroic bosses, and LFR drop rates need to be under 5%. I say this as someone who raided heroic content in wrath and cata but is currently not raiding in MoP.

Heroics aren't hard. The only difference between LFR and Heroics is the bosses are tuned down so teamwork is less of a focus. In Heroics, you need 10/25 people who know how what to do at the right time. Individuals knowing what to do isn't difficulty.

People who don't think the Legendaries in Vanilla and TBC were "legendary" clearly did not play (more than likely) or attempt to raid during those times, because seeing the 1-2 people with a legendary on a high pop server while they were current content felt pretty legendary.

They may look like RNG drops today when you go back and faceroll level 70 raids, but back then those raids were extremely difficult and most people could not complete BT or SWP (or come even close) until it was nerfed in 3.0. That's the difference in those legendaries than the ones now. They may have been "omg RNG lol" but when only a literal handful of guilds are actually clearing the content because of its difficulty, it has little to do with RNG.

As far as this expansion, since they are giving the legendary out to anyone who has been paying Blizzard $15 a month since MoP came out, I am fairly happy with what it turned out to be, although I do hope they can improve the look of cloaks in the near future since most players won't be displaying them.

Pretty much this. People have this warped sense of entitlement and this haze of stupidity on what exactly a legendary item is.

In my eyes a Legendary is a slightly better item than epic that you have to do a lot of work and/or grinding to get over a period of time. The manner in which you obtain the item doesn't mean shit honestly. Never has in WoW and never will.

Who gives a shit if billy joe fucking jimbo has the legendary as well. Chances are most people WONT get the legendary because either:

- most don't want to farm LFR for the stupid collecting quest items (which eliminates a vast majority of the "raiding community" from participation in the legendary questline)
or
- most don't like the final reward or don't think it's worth the trouble.

So people really need to chill out.

Cloak is one of the few items you can hide on a character, that doesn't exactly scream "core visual piece of gear" to me. I'm overwhelmed honestly. Not only is it a cloak, but it's obtainable by everyone for very little effort. I guess the meaning of legendary is going the way of epic.

The cloak is one of the most visual and noticeable pieces of gear on your character. Having the possibility of hiding it doesn't change that, combined with the fact that very few people hide their cloaks.

While I did like the whole premise of going through a long series of quests/ raids to attain the final reward, I do think the whole concept of a Legendary item has been eroded now with everyone getting one. Maybe it would have worked out better as a better-than-raid-lvl epic?

Yes, everyone wants to see content. But 'Legendary' should refer to something prestigious and rare as well as powerful. Before any one even begins to accuse me of being elitist, I've never gotten one Legendary before and am completely fine with not having the item. What I did mind was not being involved in the quests.

Let's put it this way; I have 5 characters at 90. ONE of them is getting the cloak, I'm not doing this chain again. I also know several people who have given up and won't be finishing.

when I see someone with the cloak, I know exactly how much time and effort they put into it (NEVER DOING THE WRATHION FIGHT AGAIN EVERRRRRR). They didn't just get a lucky drop from a boss 20 levels under them.

Haha no. is that even a question. Never have legendary's been an armor slot item, except for that molten core POS neck piece. Legendary's are legendary because of how awesome they look, and making weapons outa that gives it an unlimited possibility of exception. But with the story line behind it, and the suspence of the black princes story line, it kinda turns out to add up. Why would a mere mortal (the black prince) be able to give out the best weapons in the game so far. I liked out a boss could drop it, it made me wanna do that more. Add more Legendary boss drops blizz!!!
