I had come back from a deployment and a buddie had World of Warcraft so I made a character on his account. I was wandering around in Westfall acting like I was a boss and bumped into a "fat robot scarecrow" that had an odd name plate. He raped and my face and I asked my friend "WTF just happened?" He said, "Oh, don't fuck with elites." Lesson learned and I still laugh about it to this day.

First "WOW" moment for me was coming into Astranaar on my nelf rogue back in Vanilla. I didn't know what to expect, and actually stealthed in "just in case". Shortly after that I realised nothing would attack me when I saw people running everywhere, and was like... wow, a night elf city. I took ages to explore it, I walked/swam everywhere I could, astounded by the details and scope.

My second WOW moment actually came so soon after I almost consider it a package with the first one. I got the quest asking you to fly to Darkshore, and was like shiiiiit this world, this game world is the biggest thing I've ever seen. "How did they fit so much into a game?" I kept thinking, and when I opened the map for the first time, and figured out Darkshore was just a tiny part of Azeroth, I was absolutely blown away. That was the first time I KNEW I had found a game I wouldn't stop playing for years.

If I could capture those feelings, put them in a box and use them to truly relive those moments, I'd give up my current account and all its efforts

    This, except with Orgrimmar.

After few minutes in WoW I was so angry, because my boyfriend dont want to show me how I should KeyBind button 1 and 2 and than I was not able to push it in row with WSAD. I sad :" What bullshit did You advice to me? I am not bale to push it. I have too short fingers".... I want to quit and never ever go back . WoW was my fisrt MMO. Anyway 1 and 2 buttons are still not my favorite and I am having there long coldown spells.

And when WoW cached me? Hmm... someone sad that there is class you cannot play from lvl 1 and you first need to lvl charakter to 60 and than you can pick a DK. I was absolutely amazed

Thinking back on it, every moment feels like a "wow" moment because back then it was all so new and mysterious.

The first time I really remember being really excited was when I was making the trek from Ashenvale to Elwynn and I got news of something called an "auction house". I was completely intrigued by the idea of it so I ran to Ironforge and another player showed me where it was. After that I must have spent hours on end just browsing, and it was the first time I bought a cape. I think it was a yellow colored "of the whale" cape for my level 24 hunter. The stats were useless but I loved it because it was my first.

There are quite a few for me but keep it short I'll say the first two I had.

Very Common:The Moment I walked through the gates of Stormwind into a Bustling town full of other players going about there own buisness.

When I realized that when they said the continents of Azeroth are seamless I was skeptical and thought there had to be some kind of loading between regions.....but to my surprise it was and more.(I mean the only world map I saw before that was the Final Fantasy's overworld map and it was very bare.)

Bonus:Mist of Pandaria.....The Great Wall that divided a portion of the continent....I stared at it for the better part of 10 minutes.

While I had some minor "wow" moments before, but the first time I really got my mind blown was in Zul Farak (spelling?). And yes, it's was the stair fight.
I did that place with 4 other guys whom had never been in there, and it was epic. We thought we were completely screwed, and while in reality it was a pretty easy fight, it felt like you were just on the edge of being overwhelmed.

I didn't start playing until early Wrath, and earliest WOW moment I remember was a quest in Storm Peaks, when jumping from protodrake to protodrake killing the other Bruunhildar, trying to get to Thorim. I remember that just being totally badass.

    - I was always anti MMO and laughed at classmates playing it april 2005. One of them offered me to walk around on his mage, and so I did. It was Ashenvale, I was just walking on the road looking around until I blinked; then I was WoW awesome.
    - It made me buy wow and start a night elf hunter just because I wanted a pet. I wanted a cat; which looked like my RL cat
    - Entering Stormwind
    - The size of the World of Warcraft
    - Nagrand (love this place)
    - Dinging 60 on my mage
    - Getting Epics in vanilla
    - Ulduar

I probably forgot some. I'm quite easily "wowed" and had loads of "WOW!!!" moments.
Nowadays the "WOW!!!" is toned down to "pretty cool".

Having my first epic drop while questing in Ungoru Crater... .Bow of searing arrows.
I remember having to empty my bags and fill with stacks of arrows to raid LBRS and UBRS cause shot speed was about 0.8s... could easily chew through about 4k arrows in a nite. Also first trip into UBRS as a fill in for a bigger guild and having to kite the last boss...... Tier helm dropped and I got it as was the only hunter :-)..... OH the days when bone slicing hatchets were BIS

My first character was a tauren shaman, and I was so amazed at how big the quilboar lair was. I got lost and died a lot in that place.

The first time I ever got to Ratchet hundreds of naked low level Gnomes streaked off the boat like a herd of bison. Tiny naked bison.

Mines the almost the same as the OPs

My first character was a NE Druid and part of the water form quest required me to get westfall so had to travel there from dark shore in cat form so many Wow moments in that run like seeing Ironforge and stormwind, the tram system inbetween (I miss that since switching to horde although handy place to build a raid) but generally realising how big the world actually was

My first ride on a gryphon from Sentinal Hill to Stormwind. it was at that moment that I realised just how big the world was after looking at the map to see where I was.
