"Players cannot be kicked during combat, or shortly after combat".

    Hi everyone.

Today i was running ToT LFR, the first part of it. There was a person with one of those little trees companion pets you can get in the shop, so i tried to votekick him.
The last combat we fought was already over, and i was surprised to see the message: "Players cannot be kicked during combat, or shortly after combat".
    So, what does "shortly" mean?

I always thought it was something like 30 seconds. But then i remembered other occasions where, even after 30 seconds, i still couldn't votekick.
This can be quite an issue in LFR, since there usually is little time between pulls.
Does anyone have info about this "shortly"?

Wait, what? Why did you try to kick that guy again?

It's an issue that you can't votekick someone because they have a store pet? I feel sorry for you.

I'm still not clear why you would kick this guy. What did he do?

Apparently it's because they bought something from the Blizzard Store. That message usually appears when you have used too many votekicks in a short period of time. There does not seem to be a fixed time for "shortly", as I have been able to votekick someone where other people have gotten that message (and vice versa).

Shortly is 15-20 seconds, but sometimes it bugs out and can be up to a minute. At which point it can sometimes tell you that player now cannot be kicked for the next x minutes, even though it would have before.

Also, why the hell would you kick someone for that? I mean, I think it's stupid and all to buy the thing, but they didn't spend my money to get it and that is more money for Blizzard to (not) spend (not) making my game better, so the Fucks Given counter will remain at 0.

He dared to buy something from the cash shop.

Considering your reason, that's probably why you couldn't start a vote. No doubt you built up quite a timer for yourself.

Not being able to kick someone during rolls is even worse. Smart trolls can keep rolls up for a very long time in low level dungeons just to not get kicked. Only way is to wait for the roll to expire without killing anything else in the meantime, basically wasting everybody's time. Even trash drops plenty of green crap that pops up roll windows that trolls can advantage of. Very annoying.

So you were jelly that he had the pet and you didn't?

You tried to kick a guy because he had a vanity pet from the blizz store.... that's a real douche thing to do and I'm glad you couldn't kick him

Wow, was that really the reason you wanted to vote kick him? Pathetic.

I wish people would have kicked you because you clearly did not deserve the hand me out gear LFR provides

I know the reason for the limitation.
It is to prevent kicking with the intent of denying someone the loot they are eligible to roll for.
Perhaps the period of time has been increased to discourage the sort of petty bullying that you are encouraging.
I mentioned previously that there is the possibility of vote-kick adjustments if this sort of stupid mentality becomes common enough.

This exactly, more flameing. Report the thread if mods care at all, they'll close it.

Vote kicks have never been able to go out while loot rolls are still pending.
