Anthony Ordon teases epic open-world dynamic event

Can’t really spoil anything but August has no jumping puzzle and we definitely wanted to steer away from instanced mini-games.

Variety is good for the game, especially a balanced variety. If we make too much of any one type of content, eventually that type of content will become tiresome. The purpose of my reply wasn’t to naysay jumping puzzles or activities, but just to let you know that something different is coming. Personally, I’m a huge fan of epic open-world dynamic events and since I’ve had a hand or two in the upcoming releases, you should get ready.
As the late Captain Mai once said, watch the skies.

So... what exactly is different from the other dynamic events compared to this?

If he is making another zerg open world boss fight I swear to god I will fly to Seattle and smack the shit out of all of them. Open world bosses are just awful.

Lol, you watch too much Travel Channel!

I'm highly curious, the watch the skies? Colin already said there would be no more dragons this year...

And there is that big ass tent over the Great Collapse in Divinity's Reach.....but that would be what? Watch out for the ginormous hole in the ground?

    ....

A sky pirate captain told you to watch the skys

    ....

It's painfully obvious it's dumbo the elephant that we have to watch for.

He may have said no more dragons, but nothing about revisiting dragons we've already seen. I'm personally hoping that he's hinting they've finally redesigned the Zhaitan encounter as a large scale open-world event. It'll be 1 year since GW2 launch when this content is released so what better time for ArenaNet to surprise us with the return of Zhaitan since we never got solid evidence he was actually killed in Arah, only defeated. Even in the explorable mode which is meant to occur after his defeat, the risen there still worship/hail him.

Well that's my wishful thinking at least.

    No

    nonononnonono

    NO

zhaitan was bugged, then fixed, then nerfed to the ground to the point where you shouldn't of bothered to fix the bugs.

But making him into an open world boss zerg event? Now that is the worst idea ever, it will make the encounter more of a joke then it already is.

They said no more dragons as in additional, I can see all of the current ones attacking LA together!

Maybe it'll actually be like...some weird amalgamation of open world and instanced content, such that it allows for the "world boss"/event/open world feel without the ridiculous zerging that just ruins it all.

    Plane of Fear, woohoo!

I'm pretty sure when they said no dragons right now they meant no Elder Dragons soon. Not the little guys like Claw of Jormag/ Tequatl.
