Don't try to presume that you are looking for a debate, you just want people to agree with you; I'm just calling you on your crap. You don't see anything wrong with exploiting a design flaw for you own gain, and it's not my job to grab you by the hand and explain how wrong your stance is.
And you do ye olde "you disagree with me, you are a troll" and I'm the stupid one?
*shrug* I'm more inclined to believe they nerfed it because it was a spot max level characters could go farm that wasn't in a max level zone.
At this point, I firmly believe the only reason Blizzard lets lower level mobs drop anything for max level characters is because it's too time consuming to level professions while leveling, so you need to be able to do your farming at max level.
I'm not being at all sarcastic. I firmly believe that if Blizzard could find a way to do so without breaking the game or pissing off the players, they'd change the code so that grey monsters are worth no loot, just as they're worth no xp. This is just an extension of that.
Wasn't gray mobs. Mistfall Village is a daily hub in Vale of Eternal Blossoms. There's a tooonnnn of infinitely spawning little sprites with 300k health, sometimes less than that if you do it during the day they're playing with fire and are all at about half health. An even remotely geared Warlock takes Mannoroth's Fury and just keeps running Rain of Fire and the radius allows them to pull a ton of these low health mobs as they melt around them in seconds and get instatagged as they spawn. The sprites had normal loot tables like the Mogu out there, so you could get 80s to 1g on every sprite on top of greens, grays, cloth, and Skyshards.
I didn't call you a troll because you disagreed with me, I called you a troll because
of this stupidity.Cry more because they fixed a part of the game that was simply broken.
I'll take "entitled little twerps" for 400, Alex!
This was suppose to be a discussion, yet people are taking my own words and twisting them into their own stupidity. I don't care whether people agree or disagree, that is their own opinion. If we were "exploiting" anything we would have been banned or dealt with, putting that many monsters into one area and expecting people not to farm it is not our fault.
Playing the AH doesn't generate gold into the server economy, if anything it takes it away as you're often relisting bought goods, that have a cut taken off of the price.
Sitting there farming mobs to vendor greys, and while alot of Pandaland mobs drops worthless greys they can and do drop weapons and armor that can be vendored at a relative premium compared generates additional money into the economy, on top of people generating gold every day through dailies. In regards to the Mistfall Village spot in particular, you screwed with anyone trying to do the daily chain if it happened to go to Mistfall Village, if for no other reason that spot at least was justified.
These mobs are level 90 and yellow to any level 90 player. Using Rain of Fire only tags the monsters, it does not kill them, they also stun repeatedly and hit quite hard. I will call anyone out who uses this crap as an excuse, you can herb and mine with no effort at all, at least killing these monsters requires you to do more than watch television and look for yellow dots. If them dropping too much gold was an issue then they should have nerfed that, not everything, which caused the spot to be useless.
I agree it being in a daily area was horribly done, however when that quest area first opened up there were so many people doing dailies the whole zone was fighting to tag mobs, people rarely go there now and when they do it's not hard to tag a few mobs for a quest. I believe there should be farming areas throughout the world for people who enjoy doing so, just as you can do several other things to make gold.
I think he takes things in perspective. Vale won't remain max-level zone forever.
There are ways to play AH and generate gold of thin air, introducing it to in-game economy. Blizzard tries to fix any of those ways, but I doubt they will be able to remove all of those methods without rewriting many game mechanics from scratch.Playing the AH doesn't generate gold into the server economy, if anything it takes it away as you're often relisting bought goods, that have a cut taken off of the price.
Druids' edge in mining/herbing is minimal. It takes 1.5 seconds to mount, and most of the best mining spots are in caves anyways. Personally, I like a pet class when I mine/herb. If there happens to be a hostile mob around, the pet holds it (or just kills it for me, especially in sprite caves) while I mine/herb. You'll be able to get an herb-picking mount next patch, so stop throwing a hissy-fit about druids having an advantage over you in herbing.
ps: I use zen flight on my monk for quest items. Occasionally I use it for mining, but I like my warlock for that better.
The real problem is that a "farming spot" implies that the mobs are repopping unrealistically fast. When mobs do that, it's intended to support a quest, not a warlock with a macro. You are supposed to have to travel between your murder sprees.
