I've always liked stuff like this:

And you can't go wrong with Lindsey:

But as far as guitar covers go, FamilyJules7x is one of my favorites:

I'll have to find it later but it was a Metal version of the Game Of Thrones opening song. It was unbelievable.

Snippet stolen from TV Tropes best describes it
"The two versions of Nine Inch Nails' "Hurt" showcase similar but very different messages. The original NIN version is an introspective ode to self loathing and alienation. But Johnny Cash covered the song and made it into a reflective, contemplation on his whole life, looking back at what he had gained, and more importantly what he had lost. Instead of a young guy in his late 20's writing down his depression, it's an old man looking back at his life that was soon to end."

Still, the NIN version is better.

Metal covers aren't really that uncommon and suprising. They're among the first you'll find when looking for alternate versions. If you want something unexpected, try these jazz fusion arrangements of basic pop songs.

Obviously anything by 331Erock is going to be better than the original!

Pathfinder takes decent songs and makes them METAL AS FUCK.

And then a metal cover of Cher, because fuck it.
