    Building a new PC ($700 - $800)

I'm building a new PC soon. I don't know if it's possible to get a decent one for $700 with a monitor but If I can save a few more bills I could make one that has the following:

MB - MSI Z77A-GD65 (I want this one for future CPU upgrades)
    PSU - CORSAIR TX650
    CPU - INTEL CORE I5-3570K 3.4 GHz OR 2500K
    GPU - $200 - $250
RAM - CORSAIR VENGEANCE 8 GB
    OPTICAL DRIVE - $20
    HARD DRIVE - 500 GB

    + Monitor

Just wondering if I can get some cheaper alternatives to match a $700 - $800 price range thanks.

May want to give your location. A template on this kind of advice being needed is in the upgrades and builds sub-forum of this forum at the top of the page. Moderator shall probably move this to that sub-forum soon. But it will be best way to get advice

    i suggest a Geforce 760. 2gig version.

also take the I5 3570K over the 2500K. main difference is 20 watt in power consumption wich means less heat when overclocking.

also try this website to make ya PC, it shows you what parts fit ect.
so you won't buy a I5 CPU with a incompatible motherboard.

    www.PCpartpicker.com

also try and get a SSD. really speeds things up!

this would work if u wont be overclocking,

    http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/1HLro

    831$

    -----

    if ur willing to overclock,

    http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/1HLrH

    828$

had to switch the 760 for a 660 but u always have the option to sli later with another 660

p.s.: just forgot... wait another week or two as ati is releasing their new graphic cards and u may could fit in a more powerful card in the last build within in same price range

How's this? I already managed to get myself a 1TB HDD so this is what I came up with.

Which parts would you recommend I buy first with a budget of $500 right now.

Edit: Updated RAM since on backorder.

Also remember that that comes to about $850 now... But you'll need another $50 or so for an aftermarket cooler if you want to even touch overclocking.

as u can see going for your case it pulls you up to 886,66$ you could wait with oc´ing and skip the evo 212 and go for a cheaper case, then u will end up at ~820$ then later on add an aftermarket cooler.
you didnt have a monitor in your suggestion, you still need one? if not that will give other options to put into that build.

i dont get your question though? what do you mean by buying some now with 500$ ? will you then buy the rest later on? or did your budget drop down to 500$?

Yeah, right now I'll probably buy the video card / cpu and I'll buy the rest as I get more money unless there's some sort of combo deal which I doubt.

well your actually limited by your budget right now? well then post the specs of ur pc so we can see what (considering u will be buying all the stuff time after time) parts are compatible with ur current computer, to make the transition as comfortable as possible.

Is this computer worth buying used for $400?

    GPU: GTX 460
    CPU: i7 930 2.8GHz
    RAM: 12 GB
    HDD: 500 GB
    PSU: 600 W

no those parts are outdated and i assume used. not worth 400$ at all. save to get back on the 800 budget and build something decent
