"At the Blizzcon 2011 World of Warcraft Open Q&A panel, Metzen was again asked about reviving Illidan. He asked the crowd if it was something they would like to see, the crowd exploded and cheered in response, and he said they would work on it. He later revisited the topic during the World of Warcraft Lore Q&A panel, after being asked about the dead bodies of important villains. Metzen indicated that based on fan reaction they would most likely bring Illidan back, and would have to decide on a way to revive him, noting that his corpse would be very significant."

We already ressed a Demon hunter, so I can't see why Illidan would stay dead.

I could totally see Illidan risen as an undead npc. Alleria and Turalyon come show up but Alleria is dead and her body preserved in a casket. Sylvanas resses her as an undead npc and they undead unite the horde and alliance into a super faction. Totally Plausible.

I can see Illidan coming back. He never really finished his character Arc. In Warcraft 3 and books he was more an anti-hero then pure villan. But then in Burning crusade hes just a villan we kill. I know they say he went crazy after he lost to Arthas but that sounds like BS. Would be more exciting if he faked his death so kil'jaeden would stop his pursuit of him until he can strike back. Then we can have the most powerful Demon hunter versus the most powerful Demon.
