    Loot spec's fury vs arms

    Hey guys,

Is there any actual advantage to speccing fury or arms for loot specs if you're searching for only 2h weapons? I was told today that putting your loot spec to arms would "increase" your chance to get 2h weapons, but this is contrary to my understanding of how the roll system worked. I currently am rocking 2 1h weaps, and didn't want to hinder myself by in essence making my chances of getting loot smaller by rolling arms.

Not that I can think of, since no boss can drop both a 1h and 2h, except for maybe Garrosh w/ BoA weapons.

So speccing fury shouldn't ever hinder my chances of receiving a 2h?

Speccing Fury would actually give you more options, but if you're only looking for 2h, Arms is better for you to set your lootspec to.

Nope. Since there is no boss that can drop both 2h and 1h.

I was just under the impression that the game would "choose" an item from the boss's loot threshold and if that item was within your current loot spec then you would receive it. I figured speccing fury was the smarter choice just in case the game decides to continue to give me 1h's instead of 2h's.

The game first rolls to see if you win something. Then it rolls again to see which item from the loot table you recieve. If there would've been a boss which dropped both 2H and 1H, having arms as a loot spec would remove the onehanders from the list and thus increasing your chance of getting a 2H. but assuming Darkfriend is correct (he probably is, I just can't be bothered to double check) your loot spec shouldn't matter when it comes to getting weapons

on a boss with both a 1h and 2h drop,

arms would be the better choice, because if you get a winning roll, it's more likely to be the 2h than with fury having an extra chance of not being said 2h

if the loot table isnt exactly that than no it doesnt matter

Ye IDK how BoAs weapons work for Garrosh, but that's the only fight w/ that potential. But since the BoAs are separate, personal loot IDK how that interacts.

AFAIK the first time you win a BoA from Garrosh it's based on your loot spec, after that it could be any BoA on the loot table.

Ye but like, IDK if it's current spec or loot spec for sure. My assumption is loot spec, but I don't remember for sure what the blues said.

Only reason to ever use anything other than a dedicated 'Arms' loot specialisation this tier is if you are SMF. But TG is doing more dps so that's rarely ever the case. The fact that there are no bosses that drop both 1H's and 2H's together makes no difference at all. If I'm wanting to gear my warrior with 2H weapons, why would I want a chance at getting a 1H weapon?

TLDR; Always use Arms loot specialisation kids!

The only time it matters is when you coin a boss that drops one handers, assuming you don't want them at all. I just set it to arms in general, there's zero downside.

The other TG Fury Warrior in our guild got his first BoA and it was a 1h.... IMO set to Arms if you are TG.

I am currently using arms loot roll spec, because I do not want those 1H weapons from bosses which I need other loot from. Malkorok is a good example for this.

It was mentioned in one of the thread regarding Garrosh BoA weapons, that player received after lootspec.

I always keep my lootspec as arms, even for bosses besides Garrosh, rather have Bracers from Norushen than a 1-Hander which I'll never use :-P

Well unless you're doing flex, it only matters for coins. But ye might as well keep it arms this tier. No reason not to.

I got the garrosh 1H heirloom as TG fury better set it to arms.

Setting your loot spec to Arms saves you the trouble of getting a 1H'er on those bosses where you try to coin another piece of gear.

Thanks guys! I was unaware that the game rolled twice. Now this makes a lot more sense! I appreciate the information you've provided.
