I'm not asking for child pornography to be legal. But I'm just fucking disgusted that gore is legal.

Can we stop accusing people randomly and keep a civilized and constructive argument? Let's try to read this in a neutral perspective please.

    /facepalm

I'm not talking about actual murder, but images/videos of murder.

    Exactly, that's my point.
You worded the OP atrociously mate. You could have compared gore with everything else, instead you picked child pornography. Please close this thread and open another one asking why is gore accepted, so we can discuss this rather absurd claim without being distracted by your nonsensical comparison.

Please read the first post I made.

The reason I brought up children as an example in this thread, rather than grown ups; is because it might be easier for some to compare gore with child pornography.

You'd have better luck eliciting constructive responses if you'd employed eloquence in lieu of emotional outbursts in the OP, though.

You said you didn't care about fiction. So gore not about actual myrder, but images of it, gotta be fiction. Otherwise it's actual myrder and real.
As somebody else mentioned you can get jailed for watching simpsons-porn in Australia, which i'm sure we can agree isn't real people.

Would be nice if you sat down and clarified what it is you want. What you want legal and not, in a careful thought way, because right now you're not making sense to me.

They show 'gore' as entertainment, or as news? There is a difference.

I don't quite understand where you are going with this. When you say gore and child pornography, do you mean like in the movies, or in real life?

Depending on country he really could mean either one...

There is no comparison to be made between child pornography and gore.

I might even get to understand what you're saying now but with the way you started on your original post there is no way to discuss this properly. We would be interrupted every two post by people coming in, rightfully asking for explanations.

    OT:
yes gore is atrocious and I'm sure there will be laws soon making the storage and possibly the watching of extreme videos like snuff movies or stuff like that, illegal.

I want gore to be illegal, I'm disgusted that some people enjoy gore.

As am I...Though i think it's protected speech now in the US..Mores the pity...

You can't really compare (I'm assuming real?) child pornography to (fake/scripted) gore. Real snuff films are as equally illegal as child porn...if you're talking about scripted sex acts, there are films/books like Lolita but overall the subject is so taboo that I doubt many parents of child actresses would be OK with their children starring in films that depicted their children in acted-out sex scenes.

In regards to gore/horror films, I agree to an extent; some films have (in my opinion) gone too far. For example, I can't finish any of the Saw films, I tried watching a couple of them with a friend of mine (who loves gore films) and I became nauseous and had to stop watching less than 5 minutes into the gore parts. Those films are seriously fucked up, and I kindof wonder about people who like watching shit like that....

Sorry mate but you'd have better luck by starting from scratch.

This is a good case of folks needing to refine their argument sometimes.

Upon reading clarifications of his point, I went from thinking the OP was in a roundabout way advocating for child porn to be accepted to actually agreeing with him. Gore is pretty vile, and the people who watch real gore probably do need to be watched by trained mental professionals.

Actually even if the parents would be going by current laws in alot of countries they would still be illegal....

As for me an gore i can ONLY handle it in some anime and some video games..But generally has to be VERY over the top..Like GoW(GOD not gears) or say No More Heroes and anime wise things like Hellsing or Elfen Lied.

Okay, now are you talking about actual beheadings, torture, etc.? I don't recall them ever being socially acceptable as a means of entertainment - not since public executions were dispensed with anyway.

Christ you're dense. Watching gore in no way makes anyone a psychopath, though I'm sure you'll respond without any facts saying I'm wrong, naturally. And pedophilia is very much illegal in quite a lot of places.

And most gore is pretty fixable, obviously losing an arm isn't, but something can be gorey without any permanent damage done, whereas child pornography isn't the same.

Oh, he was talking about real gore? Hmm.

Well, some/most of it IS in fact illegal if someone was actually murdered in the video, like snuff films (at least in the US). Gore in general is not, but I agree it's pretty bad and people who make a habit of watching it probably have some, ahem, issues...
