A better example of a reskin:
The Zhevra mount from RAF
The unicorn mount. Quel'dorei Steed:
Aside from the flag, there is no silhouette change. But at the same time, it's not a recolor. A recolor or palette swap would be:
to:
The two mounts depicted here are the same, only there are different colors. Changing the textures = reskin. So say, adding or removing things without making a silhouette change to it.
However, you can easily count a recolor and a reskin into the same group, even if I wouldn't. A recolor keeps the original textures intact and just changes the color outright, or parts of it. Turning the white unicorn black altogether would be a recolor. Instead, they added the stripes and some other parts. Or the other way around. I think they added the Quel'dorei Steed later, yes.
The hyppogryph is proably the RAF mount. But I'd be willing to bet that it's a store mount.
Anyway, the new one looks nice. But I'll never replace my blazing hippogryph / argent hippogryph.
I only have one thing to say about new mounts and pets
What doesn't kill you, only makes you stranger
Oh no, all of my money is going to the store and RaF and all that unless I can find a willing subject to deal with RaF for me
*cries silently* that st. bernard.. that hippogryph... that little crusader murloc... THE FAE DRAGON MOUNT.
*sobs*
Anyone yet know where the St Bernard is from? My always inebriated dwarf warrior and pandas need it. So bad.

Also, as someone who's actually worked on making 3D models and such, I must say that Yarathir is conrrect in their use of terminology, regarding reskins / remodels.
The term "reskin" only, ONLY applies when the actual model is unchanged.
Consider a body if you're not sure:
Skin/Texture = Skin (fits around the flesh)
Model = Flesh (fits around the skeleton)
Skeleton = Skeleton
The term "reskin" is used incorrectly in this community moreoften than the word 'literally' or the terms 'should of / would of'.
Looking marvelous in velvet.
