So things seem to be moving along much faster now. Cant wait till they connect mine (Quel'Dorei).

I'm sure they'll gradually increase pace and add groups of realms together until they get the desired amount. How many realms are there for US that need connecting?

Even though I'm on a full server I hope they start with EU soon.

nice to see a server is being merged twice, maybe they will eventually merge more together to turn them into higher pop realms, I don't think one server merge will fix my server

That's sort of the point, though. Enough dead-ish realms = a realm.

This scares me, Warsong and Gurubashi were unofficial Brazilian realms. Nothing against Brazilians but I don't want my server merged with a BR realm.

The patch helped with some returning of course, but it's already dying out again.

It's so sad to see the state that these once great realms have fallen into. Bloodscalp at 105 raiding guilds in WotLK down to 6 raiding guilds now. Boulderfist from 162 raiding guilds down to 14.

Gundrak is where I go to farm rares. It will be a sad day for the rest of the oceanic realms when Gundrak gets merged and our dead, free achievement realm vanishes.

That would mean your realm won't be so deadish. It all adds up.

The fact that they are actually going to connect three realms is potentially major news. This could actually lead to a huge change in the way that realms are populated. As of right now servers have pseudo population limit in queue times. With this new information it is likely that large single servers will die out to be replaced by a highly populated server cluster. After all why would you join a single server when you could join a cluster of 3 servers that should theoretically have 3 times the population potential. This leads me to believe that blizzard is seriously planning to go forward with all realms being connected eventually, it is the only way to explain this decision.
