Exactly, You are not limited to ONLY one type of thing at any age unless you, your self choose to!

When I was between 14/19 I played a whole range of games. Yeh most were shooters or RTS as they were my preferred type. I still played other game as well like sports games and things like sim city etc.

Why do I feel like I'm talking with a High School freshman who took his first psych elective or something? You're ripping on someones opinion because you yourself hold the idea that your own opinion is so much older and wiser.

Just because you call something childish doesn't mean that you yourself are childish. If I call a movie childish, or refer to someone as childish, that doesn't mean I'm childish myself. I hold the opinion that, while MoP did certainly have its share of dark moments and themes, there is indeed a very light-hearted and comical feel to it that some might consider childish or cartoonish. Does that make me childish or comical myself? No. If I refer to Hockey as a stupid and boring sport (Joking Hockey fans, plz have mercy) does that make me a stupid and boring person? Of course not.

Oh my god, stop. The "I'm so old and wise" dick stroking is painful to look at. You basically just said "Mature ppl understand that things usually have many interpretations and such. LOL U DONT UNDERSTAND IT CUZ UR INTERPRETATION OF IT IS DIFFERENT THAN MINE." Just because these people judged something by themselves and came to a different opinion than yours...that means they're wrong and aren't able to comprehend it? Are you fucking kidding me?

Childishness is an attribute or a characteristic of something, it doesn't refer strictly to the behavior. A person BEHAVES childishly, meaning that their behavior is modified by the word Childish (Come on, think back to 4th grade here). I could refer to MoP as Childish because of its theme, artistic direction, and writing. If I don't like the art, then I'm wrong and I can't comprehend or understand the art? Ok, yeah. I forgot that having different opinions from someone is WRONG AND STUFF.

I look at your post, and this is exactly what I see. I see you describing yourself with this paragraph here. You "realized" that people who share a different opinion than you are "childish and immature" and now hold the belief that you are correct and enlightened. You have "found" the reason why some people don't like MoP, and you have "found" the reason why they are WRONG for having a different opinion than you.

It is what it is, Mists of Pandaria can be childish, it can be many things to many people.
But those who strike their fury upon Mists of Pandaria seem to miss the point it's a matter of eating a chocolate.

That's my point, that's why we have 73+ pages of why Mists of Pandaria doesn't fit in the Warcraft universe, endless bickering over taste.
    It's endless cus it's childish.
What I'm trying to say is, I don't believe it's impossible to make an objective observation in this case, given what's come before. Nobody is saying how dare you like it, or you can't like it.

We're saying hey, there's 4 chocolate bars, ones plain, one has nuts, one has caramel, another has fudge. And the last one is white chocolate.

Nobody is saying it isn't chocolate, but it's obviously contrasting to its companions.

Are you blind? MOP is the most brutal expansion yet.

White, black, red, all colors. Beyond the colors, you get the taste.

Beyond Mists of Pandaria theme, you get the taste.
Beyond Cataclysm theme, you get the taste.
Beyond Burning Crusade theme, you get the taste.

So if you want to discuss how an expansion looks, that's a difference between actually discussing how an expansion feels or taste.
    Looks.. feels..
    Looks.. taste..

But my truth, my personal feeling is that Mists of Pandaria is far more of a true Warcraft expansion than Burning Crusade and Cataclysm together.

If they'd exaggerated those aspects a bit more. It probably would have done better than it did as an expansion.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for bringing GTA-V into this discussion.
Because GTA V is the perfect example of a game that is targeted at a younger audience!
It has almost everything that younger people like nowadays.
Thank you for proving you know nothing about marketing.
They don't have hardcore violence or porn because they are not allowed to do that and because it doesn't reflect the image of candy very well.

But apparently violence and sex really sells a game for you. That leads me to believe you are aged somewhere around 14.
Kids around that age think sex and violence is 'cool', we mature people know better.

So let's try this again: 12-19 year old kids don't want Pandaren, they want sex and violence, they want GTA-V.
    Do you get it now?

    Seriously, it's not rocket science.
Anyone should be able to understand this: Young gamers do not like Panda's, they like violence, they like porn, they like drugs and alcohol in their games.
They like those things because it's cool to like those things.
No self-respecting teenager would be able to play a game with Panda's without being mocked at on school.

There yo go. Pretty much in all of these you either directly state that they all want it (violence sex etc) or directly will never play pandas and have 0 proof. You heavily infer in most of your posts on this thread in the same manner about that topic too. MY entire argument with you has been not everyone wants x y z people are different but a majority certainly may want x y z. You stated otherwise and is in fact a lie.

The Mogu haven't enslaved them for thousands of years; in fact, the Mogu are the most ridiculously non-threatening and ineffectual antagonists in all of Warcraft.

And even so, the Shado-Pan are the only ones that actually care about any of that. All the other Pandaren just talk about how drunk they are right now and how awesome their fat belly is. For crying out loud, the Stormstout Brewery dungeon is basically a ride at Disneyland.

When they have to burry such things under mountain of pop-culture references (not parodies, REFERENCES) then it loses the impact.

I dont think the Panda were all that needed.. I didn't like the Asaian theme. No I am not immature or what ever.. They said they wanted to move from standard fantasy stuff and went for other influences, all fine but not really my thing.
I agree with people saying it didn't really fit.

It's a real shame you feel that way. I'm just loving this expansion so much. Best one so far! *high five*

That's a real shame for you. It's really good and awesome expansion, the best in my opinion. Oh well, maybe you get more fun in the next one.

MoP wasn't THAT enjoyable. This is why it didn't 'fit'.

Actually its not... dude u really need to go and study marketing because u clearly dont get it...

The imagery and marketing of MoP did not grab the adult market very well because it was clearly aimed at a younger audience. It was definitely aimed at a younger audience than theyve aimed at in the past. (i could go into all the actual game changes to show its aimed at younger players too, but i want to keep this as short as possible).

The whole point of this thread is about how childish or not childish the whole expansion is percieved. And that is measured by how many adults avoid or leave Wow 'because it looks too childish'. It doesnt matter how many kids like it or not.... its the unsubbing who hold the key to the answer of this thread.

Did they leave because they felt it was too childish?

Or did potential new players avoid Wow because it all looked too childish?

They are the only 2 important questions that Blizzard care about.

MoP has had fairly solid gameplay, and Blizzard pushed out more content faster, but Panda's should have stayed an easter egg.

I think wow evolved on it's own path in a quite original way. We where demons, dealing with aspects, dragons and all kind of threats.

MoP came with Panda's (or how some prefer it: Pandaren).
How much someone argues that these Pandaren have nothing to do KungFu Panda, if you just take a look at the whole thing, it is a copy.
Don't think about it, just look.

Most players where just amazed at the fact that the pandaren walked into their lore. They had a feeling that they where a part of that lore, although lore is nothing but fairytales, nothing more, nothing less. But the way it was organized, it provided some basis for a lot of players to feel a part of it and do something in Azeroth and the whole wow-universe. And then all of a sudden, the panda came, based on a cartoon made for children, although adults also like it, it is based on the minds of children.

For the players who are living in Azeroth, this didn't fell well because seeing the pandaren and seeing the monk, Poo comes to mind.

I know, a walking and talking cow, a gnome, a goblin with everything that's explodes does sound childish....but the thing is, looking at those you don't think of anything else but wow; those are things that only exists in the wow-universe; there are no references outside the wow-universe. For the Pandaren, this is different: it refers to something outside the wow-universe to something made for children.

Why didn't these arguments came up when we met Dr. Jones in Uldum? Also a copy paste, right? Still nothing there.... and I think that is because Indiana Jones copy is contained within limits while the Pandaren will be there forever; they are player-chars so we can't leave m behind. The other thing is, nobody thinks Indiana Jones was made for children while Poo was.

So, it is not about the art work........ it is about the feeling people have towards something they spend 9 years (or less) time in, spend money in and spend effort developing a character, making name and so on so on. People have battled scourge, killed the Lich King, came to discover one of the aspects is going mad, battled him and killed him..... to achieve what? Being thrown around by KungFu Panda, saying "take it easy, life is to be savoured"..... what would have happened if we took it easy with Deathwing? With Lk? Just sit down, have a beer and see what happens?
I'm still simply amazed at how many people can simply reject all of the evidence that Pandaren were part of the Warcraft lore years and years before anyone even conceived of Kung Fu Panda. If A exists before B exists, than despite any perceived similarity, A simply cannot be a copy of B.

I guess I should not be so amazed though. Look at all the people who believe in Jesus, a dude with essentially no historical record to back up that he even existed, let alone did any of the stuff attributed to him.
You thought the leaden winter would bring you down forever, But you rode upon a steamer to the violence of the sun...
And you see a girl's brown body dancing through the turquoise, And her footprints make you follow where the sky loves the sea.
And when your fingers find her, she drowns you in her body, Carving deep blue ripples in the tissues of your mind.
