    Elemental Shaman [Mastery or Haste?]

    Armory:

Mastery Vs. Haste (my Sims and current gear):

I'm trying to find a nice median between the two. I know optimized would be Haste single target, vs Mastery for AoE fights.

But should I go for a certain haste break-point and then the rest mastery?

Curious on what your opinion(s) are.

Haste breakpoints generally only exist because of dot ticks. There's probably a point where you can get the most lava bursts out during ascendance as possible but I think in general mastery > haste always holds true. There's a point where you're going to get lava burst under the gcd and it's just not worth it then. Ele shaman isn't my main though, just a thought.

I can recommand mastery cus i was pure haste stacked befor and my dmg went down more and more for ever new item i got..
Now im stacking mastery fully and my dmg have gone up alot and even starting to rack up ranks on WoL. Currently im sitting at 19.9k mastery almost
and around 10.5k haste so the haste starting to raise with the gear aswell.

Pretty much this. Maybe in theory haste is in bis gear is slightly better but in reality, mastery is better choice in SoO from 540/570(?) ilvl.

33% haste gets you GCD capped in most situations, 35% haste gets you an extra tick on your flame shock. Any additional haste and you want to go PE and stack full haste, it does work but doesn't appear to be optimal in most situations.

Stacking full mastery isn't fantastic because if you're not at least 33% haste there will be moments when being at 100% mastery is useless because you're wasting a moment of each gcd that you could be casting. (Each cast is going to be a proc so you need to cast as much as possible)

The general rule for shaman is, do not waste a single GCD. So, you'll find most high end shamans are aiming for a minimum of 33% haste, with some (like myself) opting for the extra flame shock tick at 35%.

Keep in mind that playing off your trinkets really makes a difference, you need to completely change your stats if you're going for a cleave trinket. I went head to head with another shaman using the cleave trinket on heroic siegecrafter 25 and pulled ahead most attempts and indeed the kill, using heroic tot stat trinkets.

So, in answer to your question OP, the haste "breakpoints" are those listed above, 33% and 35%.

Hi i'm shamano elemental with ilevel 543: this is my setup

    Haste: 29,89%
    Mastery: 49,04% (unbuffed)

This value is a total unbuffed, and i'm use 3p on Tier Tot (530) and 1P on Tier Celestial (561)

at the patch 5.4 the priority stats was change? master > haster or haste >= mastery? now i go upgrade master or continue for haste?

    Thk you

you did read the totemspot and mmo-champion threads for elemental shamans ?
    http://www.totemspot.com/vb/showthread.php?t=7082
    http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/...de-5-4-Edition

that's were you get the answer and it will always be "Sim it"

personally I go with 30% Haste and the rest on mastery, but that's highly subjective and depends on your play style

yes i have read Thread but the soft cap 50% di haste is buffed on unbuffed?

as elemental shaman you're always haste and mastery buffed, due to elemental oath and grace of air.

mastery buff is just a "sum 16%" while haste you're going to multiply by 1.05.

since you're always going to be buffed in raids, there is no reason why we should present unbuffed numbers.

This is the only correct, non garbage comment in this entire thread.

There are no "recommended" values for haste or mastery. You need to work it out yourself, both links provided offer very detailed and easy to use guides on getting the most out of your elemental shaman.
