Does Blues Brothers count?
I adored Pirates of Penzance as a small child. Fell in love with Kevin Kline, enjoyed Angela Lansbury for years to come in Murder She Wrote, wished I could sing like Linda Ronstadt, and thought the Major General sounded like a fun Dad. While I can't claim that it's an awesome movie adaptation since I've never actually seen it on stage AND I haven't seen it since I was about 6... it's still the musical that had the biggest impact on my life.
The Sound of Music, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Little Shop of Horrors are fond memories. I've enjoyed a lot of musicals since, but most of them haven't really resonated with me a whole lot.
I don't absolutely love them, but I don't have a bias against them, either. I'm open to watching anything I haven't seen yet, or haven't seen since I was a child.
