    It would definitely work.

According to the blues, the use of Light on Forsaken is just a matter of willpower. So yes. I would rock one :P

No, paladins were immune to the plague, hence why only hunters, mages, warlocks and etc. are undead. Hence why there is no undead paladins. But since priest can use holy magic, it would be possible, but they really do not have any reason to be undead, everyone that died was already some sort of class and did not really switch.

but paladins could become undead if they were killed and raised

Being evil or not has nothing to do with the ability to wield the Light. If you didn't notice by now, there were "dark paladins" among the old gods' henchmen back in cata, that used the light.

All former Scarlet Crusade Paladins who retained their holy powers in undeath. So it can be done.
Those are the Risen, not the forsaken.

Yes, but classes generally are generally based on the main populace, reason why we do not see blood elf druids or dwarf druids.

forsaken can wield the light and have priests but there are very few paladins of the same sort. Without some sort of special reason, forsaken paladins would eventually incinerate their own bodies, rather than just have to deal with excruciating pain.

Paladins' mission is to purge evil and undead. How can an undead paladin exist?
Even if they managed to get there, the first thing they should do would be beating themselves to death with a hammer, to fulfill their mission.

I never said they were the Forsaken. I said they were undead. Which they are. "The Risen are a faction of undead (led by demons) in the Eastern Plaguelands." It is actually irrelevant that they are Risen vs Forsaken, as both Risen and Forsaken are undead, which is the point under contention.

It doesn't matter if they are Forsaken or not, the important part is that they were Paladins in life who retained the ability to use their holy powers in undeath. Which means it is possible for an undead to be a Paladin. And as the Forsaken are also undead, according the game it should be possible for a former paladin who was raised by the Forsaken to still use their holy powers.

The forsaken commission the goblins to build a specifically engineered magic containing device that would be able to trap part of the light of a Naaru and allow the wielder of the device to access the contained power and use it as they please.

Think Spider-man with the web shooter that needed to be refilled with web cartridges, except it's the light and the forsaken never actually have to touch it.

Technology + Magic = Anything is possible.

Yah but that'd be cool, every time the undead try to spec outside of shadow a big middle finger comes down from the sky and says "ah ah ahh no no!"

    Also 'turn evil' ahhhhhhhhhhhh
    "where'd Bob go?"
"oh he forgot and cast turn evil, so somewhere over by Ashenvale by now"

Of course they can. The Forsaken was once human, and some of them surely were Paladins. And Holy magic is usable by Undeads, as shown by them being able to play as Priests.

Tauren, on the other hand, they cannot be Paladins. They cannot be Priests. Oh wait... Holy Cow? Sunwalker? What was that shit they added? That piece of lore should be deleted.

I never understood why the Forsaken wasn't given Paladin instead of the Tauren. Seems more acceptable.

    Undead? Yes.
    Forsaken as *Paladins*? No
Forsaken as different class with similar mechanics (e.g Shadow Knight, Dread Lord)? Yes.

None of them were. Why? Because Paladins are immune to the plague which created the Forsaken.

It would work, totally. As others said, the light would burn them greatly; but pain is a great focus.

Warcraft really isn't the type of universe that takes issue with class restrictions... for most things at least.

you don't need to have died to the original plague in order to become forsaken....

also, the second plague of undeath COULD kill paladins

The lore technically supports them, but the player characters are generally exceptional examples of the most common denominator. Most classes are well-represented; even the Cataclysm classes are either no-brainers or the result of cultural renaissances that spread like wildfire. Death Knights are the odd man out here and the lore explicitly points out that there aren't too many of them, especially considering their home necropolis is pretty small and they were just meant to be cannon fodder to keep Tirion occupied. Forsaken paladins, as a non-hero class, would be thrust into the same leveling experience as any other non-death knight Forsaken, which begs the question of a) how they got there, and b) how the lore can explain a sudden resurgence of highly-masochistic, well-trained warriors willing to subject themselves to an eternal unlife of constant agony and blinding pain as walking conduits of the Light. As-is, death knights and forsaken Warrior and Monk tanks suffer in quiet agony when healed by a priest or paladin, and that's only periodic. Forsaken priests have an extremely high rate of suicide attempts that, according to Ask the Devs answers, has been climbing as more priests become able to feel and even taste themselves rotting and being consumed by maggots and other insects. One can only surmise that the number of Forsaken with either the strength of will or all-encompassing, Joker-like masochism required to ignore unspeakable pain every second of every day for the rest of eternity would be a very small few, hardly enough to justify the cultural renaissance required for a player character to establish him- or herself as one paragon of many who aspire to be them.

All of them working with the Argent Dawn, all wearing Pally Plate and swinging 2h maces. Sure looks like there are tons of Paladins as NPCs who are not playable as player characters. Thank you for showing everyone this information. It might help convince Blizz we are past due for an unlock.

Well put. I had completely forgotten about Scarlett Paladins who were raised as undead and still wield the powers of the light.
