[Poll] What mage gear tier did you think is the best looking one?

With the speculation surrounding possible looks and inspiration of tier 17 I wanted to reminisce about the older tiers.

Personally, tiers I enjoy to some, bigger or lesser degree, are tiers 3, 5, 8, 11 (minus the helm), 12 (normal) and 13.

Despite hating Cataclysm I actually enjoy all of the mage tiers in it and I think they did a good job with them

Tiers 1 and 2 are together due to limit on the poll choices. They're ugly anyways. :P

Honestly a lot of our tier sets I haven't cared for, the ones I have liked are:
6, 8, 10, 11, 13 (without the hat) and 14 (also without the hat)

As for best I'd prrrrobably have to go for 11?
Certainly the one I transmogged for longest.

11 is really good without the hat and the mask, not sure what the deal was there. But the robe and the wrists looked good. Pairing tier 11 with some of tiers 5 or 12 could/should produce really good transmog outfit for the Fire Mages.

13 just looks cool, I like the engineering look it has. And it's mostly self contained in terms of that it doesn't need anything else to look good, much like tiers 5 and 3.

10 and 13 are my absolute favorites.

10 is almost great looking, almost. The design of the tier is really nice but the colors are dull and there is no color variety. Not sure why they chose brown, if it was one of the mage colors, red, blue or purple, and it's shades tier 10 would look really good, I feel.

11 looks great on a gnome with a hat, the weird proportions screw things up a bit for that race.
Tier 8 frankly looks awful on my character but it appears often enough on NPCs that I can still love it.

I'm just a bit miffed that they can't be assed enough to make full sets. T10H had no belt or boots. T11H had no belt. T13H had no boots. Cloaks are always an issue if you actually want to display them.

I liked 4, 5, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, and 16. All were tiers I would happily transmog into and do a lot actually.

I actually liked 9 only for Alliance, especially Tier 9 Rogue I think it was for Alliance was amazing. All the Horde ones were meh.

They really went overbored with ridiculous effects and/or additions to the sets in MoP. One of the mage tiers literally had a library of scrolls on the shoulders and our sets this expansion were pretty good looking, all things considered. Too many effects, too much sparkle across all the classes and all three tiers, overall. If they had a simpler approach, I would have liked them more. Some of the robes this expansion were pretty good looking but usually the helm or shoulders were bad.

I actually liked 9 only for Alliance, especially Tier 9 Rogue I think it was for Alliance was amazing. All the Horde ones were meh.

I personally like sets on Horde more because Horde has Forsaken and Trolls, both of which have the perfect body type for spellcasters (I'm talking about males). Best Alliance has are the Night Elf males, Human males and Draenei males look as different from a spellcaster as possible and Gnomes and Dwarves are small and you can't even tell what they're wearing.

T7.5 is my favorite, however the best overall mage set IMO is the T8 recolor with the robe. That thing is just freakin sexy as all hell.

T11H because badass and it's the only one with a helm I like.
T15, T16, T5, and T2 are great apart from the helms.
I prefer the LFR recolor for both T15 and T16, because blue.
T8 on a troll is just weird...

You did forget T2.5 from there not that it was the best looking anyways, just the one that brings most memories to me together with T3

Now for looks I would prolly go with T13 for gnomes and T15 for trolls.. but those are just my current picks. Though for transmog I would always go with T3 if I had it anymore on my mage..

Tier 2 was my go-to roleplay set before transmog came out, but after xmog came out I got tired of it. Now I'd say my favorite would be Tier 3 or Tier 11

Tier 8 10 man recolor (with the robe from the cat lady) There is a fitting staff to the set in one of the Heroic 5 mans. You can actually look like a cool Kirin'tor Mage

Tier 10 is propably my favorite. HAd high texture. Extreme cool coloring and a dark vibe to the class.
