Guild vs Guild is coming (kinda)

We have decided to add an area to the Obsidian Sanctum jumping puzzle that is large enough to fit the fights and is removed from the entrances to facilitate some of the basic rules that are used during these fights. In addition, we will be disabling the borderlands bloodlust buff inside the map so that the players will be on a relatively even playing field. Finally, to make it easier to get to the map, we’ll be adding the map to the dropdown menu of WvW maps, allowing you to enter it from anywhere in the game. The space being added is really amazing and I think you are all going to enjoy battling it out in there if it is your preferred way to play. We decided to put this area in the jumping puzzle with the hopes of providing a space for people who wish to play the game this way to be able to do so without causing friction between them and other players who wish to focus on the other aspects of the game in WvW.

Guild vs. Guild is a gametype that has a lot of potential and one that we would never do anything but the best possible version of. That version, if it comes, will have to wait until the resources are available to build it. This change is an attempt to provide a workable solution in a timely manner, one that will ease some of the conflict that we have seen arise on the forums and in the game. WvW is an incredibly successful and engaging part of our game. It will continue to be a major focus for us as a studio and we will continue to put our effort into changes that are in the best interests of WvW as a gametype and the WvW community as a whole.

As is our practice, we won’t be releasing this until it is ready to go.

Hopefully that trolling ANet employee had to program this.

Who says whining doesn't work? Sometimes it is the most effective way to get what you want. When people were asking for GvG peacefully they just ignored it.

That will make the whole thing even more fun, a little death match mini-game.

There's always the solid option of murdering them.
If you are particularly bold, you could use a Shiny Ditto. Do keep in mind though, this will infuriate your opponents due to Ditto's beauty. Please do not use Shiny Ditto. You have been warned.

This isn't GvG... this is just a condensed free for all.

It's PvP without the objectives, just mass killing.

Exactly what everybody said. It's NOT GvG in ANY aspect. Yes, there might be 2 organised groups fighting each other but there come 329580 random people.
I bet that people will be killed by other... invisible people.

We’ve been taking feedback and testing the area and we are planning to release the new version of the map in November, barring any unforeseen difficulties. The changes to the map will remove the Borderlands Bloodlust buff from players in the map and will introduce a brand new area of the map laid out for large player fights. We are also adding the map to the dropdown menu so that players will be more quickly able to enter the map from anywhere, without being required to load into Eternal Battlegrounds.

We hope these changes will create a better WvW experience for everyone while providing a space for players to explore the large scale fights that have organically grown up around the game.

I, personally, would like to give thanks to the WvW team which has done a ton of great work in a very short period of time to make this happen quickly and to accommodate the feedback we have received. We hope you enjoy the new space and thanks for playing!
