For those who want some words to go with those pictures.
Image of pvp skills you can select from. Seems to not be class restricted?

Also of note, Allagan Stones of Mythology will be capped at 450/week post 2.1 launch.
As of now, it's uncertain whether or not the questline for the ilvl 90 weapon awarded for defeating the Ex Primals and Ex Ultima Weapon will be repeatable. It's known, however, that the "high level" accessory awarded for defeating them will be attainable once per week.

WP speed run will be much faster with these and with a Warrior, due to they can now take the beating while killing shit much faster and looks like their aggro will be way better also (time for double Flare!!!!), Coil T4 will be much nicer with Warrior for the waves as well if it is as appealing as it looks.

Should finish BLM by 2.1 then I can spend myth tombs on BRD and yay only need 2 weeks for glowing bow by then!!!!

I like his explanation for things, it at least lets players know why they are doing certain things and I can't really find fault with any of them. Looking forward to what is coming down the pipe.

Yeah one of my FC mate was complaining about it: "why the hell it takes him so long to give us any details?"

I had to explain to him, probably learn their lesson from WoW, do NOT give any info out to the player base until you have a brief idea and explanation on what you were going to do, because any "potential changes" you suggested to players, they will take it as a "promise" and hold you to it. It is best to not release much info until you have a solid structure of what is being done and why.

WAR changes are great. I only use mine to run WP for spiritbonding currently.

Patiently waiting to see some information on the DRG changes. As it currently stands it is by far the least desired class in the game and I'm hopeful for something to bring it in line with at the very least MNK.

MNK and DRG are being buff same time, chances are after the buff they will be on the same difference as they are currently.

I don't really see the "MNK more desirable than DRG" much though, at least for us, we prefer the players. We have MNKs, we would love one of our FC member to go DRG as he is freaking amazing at it, but unfortunately he has to be the tank for us in Coil as our FC struggled to get a second main tank....

I prefer MNK to DRG, myself. They're more useful, aren't as animation locked, and have the highest sustained ST DPS in the game. I wouldn't mind if DRG got buffs, but most of the DRGs I've seen have earned the name "Derpgoon."

I tend to like the way Monk feels better, but Dragoon isn't bad either. My only hope in all of this is they don't go overboard to the point all you see is Monks and Dragoons.

Updated with new posts as a result of the Live Letter, and scrubbed WAR changes since most people have seen them at this point.

Monks have amazing sustained DPS, a silence (can solo silence Turn 2), and a 20% raidwide healing increase buff.

Whats the reason to ever bring a dragoon? Similar DPS but its bursty, no silence, and Mantra cross class is 5%.

  11. #11
DRG at least boosts BRD damage a lot with their -10% piercing resistance attack. MNK just boosts its own damage with Dragon Kick. Though I agree that MNK is probably better by itself and Mantra is a really useful utility skill. That's not why I'd rather play MNK than DRG though. Personally I just like PGL/MNK's playstyle more, probably because it's different from PLD/WAR/DRG and I already have PLD/WAR leveled up.

    Hmmm did not know that....

We generally do the 2x BRD method (with me going as BRD there but otherwise I am usually BLM), and we have a MNK in the group too.

May be I should suggest that

I just hope those 30 Ranks aren't like Chocobo Rank 1-10... I lost my willpower to level it anymore and am stuck at Rank 8.5...

FirsT MoP Season General Windwalker monk, gonna see what hell I can brew there. Warriors still wouldn't be ideal for Wanderer Palace speed run due to being unable to effectively spirit bond full body like a Paladin, TP constrained and no on demand CD like Paladin. Dungeon Experience still wouldn't outweigh Fate running unless they allowed Exp chain for mobs below your level.

Lancers are Burst/AoE whilst Monks are sustain single and group heal support.

The 1 loot per week from CT is neat and will foster people rerunning it more for the exact item they ware aiming for the week (Beware Ring Rollers). There is 2 ways about selecting your EM Primal Weapon, one is due to Aesthetic purposes 2nd would be your sub-class. For me I'd be going aesthetic since my group have Turn 5 on farm, however We really need to have a look at those weapon models first before we decide =_=...

Treasure Hunt seems to be more of a mini game rather than really finding valuable treasures. I hate daily quest in WoW so shall it apply in FF14, if levequest gave more gil I would have done it but...

What I am worry about is the crash of Tome materials and Materia Rank 4s. With the ease to make ilvl 70 items, Materia 4 a RnG factor, question is how many people are willing to halt their Coil 4/5 clear just so they can stay in Coil 3 to spiritbond ilvl 70 items. Or even worst the new dungeons provide a new avenue to spiritbond ilvl 70 items which will totally crash the Materia 4 market. Currently on Carbuncle - JPN Philosophy mats are going for 7,000gil, you can shout for 6.6k in Mor Dhona if you buy in bulk.

I have yet not known the purpose of Extreme Mode Ultima purpose. Moogle Mog is scheduled to drop ilvl 80 weapons, EM Primals lead towards alternate ilvl 90 weapon. Nothing has been revealed for EM Ultima neither quest and I certainly don't think there would be a loot chest. New HM and Dungeons are confirmed to drop ilvl 60 gears, can't say much for stat distribution but are suppose to be more visually pleasing.

Oh and please don't jump on the Warrior bandwagon, we still need Paladin's out there cause they synergize better together. This is coming from a Warrior/Paladin of equal gear and often like to swap around playing the two.

24m CT if you listened to the video, states that you can only queue in as a 8man Full Party. Your UI will be restricted to only view the next alliance of 8 people, the other alliance will not be visible but you may still interact with them. As Yoshida san stated, there are encounters where you can help each other and some where you are on your own.

I agree that this will completely crash the tome market and possibly the Materia IV market. Being able to build and SB a full set of 70 gear for converting (enabled through both even lower mat prices and lower mat requirements) will probably be the biggest profit margin you can attain until Vit IV (~400k on my server) and other desired Materia drop in price.

From what I've read and understood, the questline concludes with the killing of EX Ultima Weapon and rewards the lvl 90 weapon. Take that with a grain of salt. We do know EX Primals will drop a "high level" accessory once per week, but the exact details are unknown.

I'll probably do the solo Treasure Hunts, depending on how hard it is for gatherers to find maps. I should probably finish leveling mine.

Redditors must be extremely misinformed, as most are under the assumption you can queue anywhere from solo to 8 man. I knew from the Live Letter about requiring a full 8 man group, but I didn't know about the UI restriction. Thanks!

The IV materia (especially crit) is a tard expensive atm, so I wouldn't mind them come down a bit.

However, instead of worrying about "it is easier to SB so price will drop", the bigger worry is the need for materia after 2.1

People craft HQ gear now and meld them to perfection, but that is because it will be the most powerful (way more powerful then DL equivalent) until Myth or Coil gear (in some cases, still is BiS). But now with the introduction of ilvl80 gear and Ex Primal accessories, the need for crafted gear will fall tremendously, not only the Phil materials will drop in price, I think all materia will drop in price also as people won't be needing as much anymore.

Unless the new acc. will have Vitality in non tank acc., I'll probably never take off my pentamelded Vit/Det acc until the next tier. The extra hp trivializes anything outside of Coil, and is useful for splitting fireballs on Twintania. Not to mention I'm sure it'll come in handy in Ex Primals.

You a tank or dps that wanted more health?

  20. #20
The price still will fall much cause the excess materials not being made into ilvl 70 armors will go towards making iLvl 70 accessories. More people spiritbond them and use them, irregardless people are still going to put Vit4 on first slot followed by Crit4/Det4 which don't fail so often and the last few slots are either you want minimal increase for maximum price.

Also need to change something on the compilation. The EM Primal weapon reward is on a weekly repeatable quest (Similar to CT lockout). Not sure if you can unlock weapons for classes you haven't get to 50.
