LFR, Flex, and No Loot Whatsoever

I'm not going to go into great detail here because I'm sure most of you know what I'm talking about.

For the past few weeks I've been back playing the game after a break in T14, I've been running LFR and Flex religiously, with the intent of gearing my priest to finish the tier before WoD. And for the past few weeks, I've gotten nothing worth mentioning whatsoever gear-wise. Last week, I cleared all 4 wings of flex and got 1 piece of gear, and that happened to be shoulders I had gotten from the week before. I got nothing from LFR. This week, I've cleared all 4 wings of flex, even coining 3 different bosses like an idiot, and the only item I got (which I called prior to even pulling the boss) was tier legs that are a downgrade from my 561's. I would say that these methods of obtaining gear just offer very little reward, but then I see these "less than decent" players running around in full flex/LFR sets and I begin to wonder, does Blizzard simply reward what is considered "casual" play? (by them, poor play by most) Or am I truly the most unlucky player in WoW. That's when I remembered something someone had stated a long time ago about loot ID's in WoW, and how certain accounts have better loot ID's than others. However, I can't fully believe that theory due to the fact that all the terrible players seem to get luckier than the decent ones who carry their asses through LFR/Flex. Anyone have any opinion's on this subject?

    RNG is RNG

    Also, thread title is misleading

It's not misleading in any way, shape, or form. It's the truth of my situation.

    RNG bro, deal with it.

5 weeks ago I got 9 loot out of the full flex. Since then I haven't got a. single. loot. on this same character (flex 14/14 + ordos + celestial for four weeks now).

So 64 boss kills without shinnies. Shit happens sometimes. (Gladly my raiding alts got ~3 loot per week. Keep me sane)

I still haven't won a weapon on my warrior. I've won all but 1 items of ordos with him, some more than once. Yeah RNG sucks.

I can deal with the RNG factor, since everything in the game is based off of RNG. It's more of the "no reward for my efforts" thing that annoys me. Especially when literally carrying people through LFR or an Openraid flex. I suppose if everyone else had just as shitty luck as I did, I wouldn't be upset. But seeing the guy that died on 6 out of 8 bosses in the first 2 wings of flex, to some really easy avoidable mechanic, get loot off of nearly every boss is what really irritates me. At that point it no longer seems like RNG, and now seems like Blizzard just rewarding bad play.

I think the LFR system does need a bit of a tangible mitigator for bad luck. Something like one of the following:

    - giving a guaranteed random piece of loot from the wing if, for example, the player got no loot from the wing, certain tuning can be done ie. only being eligible if you killed at least 2 bosses or something

    - bringing back the valor vendor for -every- tier for the concrete progression factor, but make it much closer to LFR ilvl and just let normal/heroic/mythic mode raiders live with valor upgrades

    - LFR call-to-arms for the current tier with a guaranteed random reward from the wing, call-to-arms criteria could either be a particular wing or just killing a certain # of LFR bosses

Just let players feel like they have a bit more control over their loot progression in personal loot environments and I think we'd see a lot less threads like this.

I had bad loot RNG in ToT. Ran lfr 7 weeks in a row got 4 pieces with coins, it happens. It will get better eventually.

RNG, but some people are lucky while some people aren't. You are probably the latter.

Personally I had the worst luck in my guild during T16 normal, going into heroics without even a 2-set bonus. But when we got into heroics my RNG has been decent - Immerseus and Dark Shaman trinkets on bonus rolls, Heroic tier chest off bonus rolls, etc (nothing actually DROPS though lol).

I really don't like the personal loot system because it degrades the sense of progress as a group. You never really know who is getting upgrades. But it's probably for the better.

The drop rate is 25%. So yeah you get unlucky some weeks, other weeks you get a shitload of upgrades all at once. But the actual rate is pretty good. By comparison the drop rate last tier was 15%.

Why can't you be a dev? Seriously, these ideas would be perfect in balancing out my, and many other people's, issue with LFR/Flex. And doing something of this nature would also encourage people to actually want to do LFR weekly, whereas now I, and several other people I know, don't even feel like LFR is worth our time due to terrible players/lack of reward.

Last week's Flex gave me 2 loot from 14 bosses . It happens.
Just hope for a better luck next week!
I come across a quiet river, that wonders through the trees.
I stare into its running waters and fall unto my knees.
In resignation to the forest, that's held me for so long.
I close my eyes and drift away into nature's evensong.

I think a better system than each boss having an X% chance to drop loot would be that each boss drops X fragments of their loot every week. To make it less predictable you could make the amount of fragments vary by a random 20% or so, with a small chance to drop all the remaining fragments you need.

I feel like it's not the actual speed of the drops that people dislike, but rather the feeling of being empty-handed and like they made no progress, and that they're no closer to their goal than they were before.

The drop rate of loot actually increases each week that you don't get drops already, but most players have no idea that this is happening because the drop rate is invisible. Just making the progress visible would make the experience a lot better.

Agreed. I've been trying so hard to gear my priest up in time to get back into HM raiding before WoD so I can finish the tier. I hate not finishing out every heroic mode in a tier and feeling like I missed out. I've already managed to do that with T15, and don't really wanna repeat that with this tier. And the lack of loot has really held me back from the goal, which is why I'm bitching about this to you guys. Console me.

I thought bad luck protection only applied to bonus rolls ?

I doubt it's existence. I've used all 3 rolls for weeks and haven't seen a piece of gear from them. If it is implemented, I've had terrible luck with it, as well.

Have the same problem with celestials . Rng or no rng i`m starting to think the loot system gets bugged when raiding crossrealm. I do celestials weekly on 2 chars , I got loot on booth of them first time i did the boss , same thing happened with nalak, loot on the first try them no loot for 5-6 weeks. What is strange and damn frustrating is that on the char that i only pvp and need only pvp loot on celestials i got 5 consecutive drops of the same piece , the PVE legs, same thing happend last patch on nalak 5-6 consecutive drops of the pve legs. This in no rng it`s a bug

You got 2 drops, that's not no loot.
No usefull loot maybe. I got a nice trinket from flex yesterday tho.

Keep in mind the droprate for Celestial/Ordos/SoO LFR/Flex is only 15%.
