Just ignore the aggro kids, they're either too dumb to realize why flying mounts are bad for a game (at least an MMO) or they're not, and they're just trolling you. The future of MMO's will prove this, flying mounts will be severely reduced in function or removed all together. Archeage only has gliders, GW2 doesn't have mounts at all, Everquest Next recently put up a poll on their site asking fans about fast travel / flying mounts and the overall response was largely negative to it. You can't make an option that's pretty much so deluxe it feels like a cheat to the game and not except it to have negative repercussions on the world and gameplay. Bypass all the content, bypass any immersion, drop and kill mobs without reading a single quest, drop and gank low levels without them ever even seeing your name, etc etc.

Now as for a nostalgic memory, I'll add a great one. My guild always gathered at Thorium Point for MC/BWL raids (the other closer FP didn't exist then). We waited until all 40 of us were there and then we rode out like a real raid. It was such an immense feeling, I really felt like I was part of something epic going on. Don't get that feeling at all anymore with the game in it's current state.

THAT'S Because GW2 has an efficient teleporter than means you can travel 1000 miles in 5secs

Before flying mounts, I read more books since I had to sit on a flight path for a half hour at a time.
It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shakes, the shakes become a warning.

This thread is not about WOD or anything, its just a nostalgic look how noobish we were and how funny it was back then. The game was harder and you couldnt powerlevel your character or mount a friends mount in order to get anywhere. You had to be escorted by some highlvls or die 100x times in order to get past those dangerous zones.
The levling back then took ages compared to todays kind of levling.

I like having my flying mount today, but iam glad i got to skip it back then. New players are spoiled these days, getting gold is easy, mount at lvl 20 instead of 40, epic at 40 instead of 60, they dont have to see old raidcontent due to new expansion zones. I would like every new character to be able to queue up to MC LFR or BWL with that current ilvl they have. The game is to easy!
