planning a build, input on what to choose, and why would be appreciated
Right. my old compy is starting to die, so i figured its time to retire it, and build a new one. I'm wanting it to last, so i had picked out a high end looking proc, and a decent looking moba. rest of the pieces were picked out to be upper-mid-tier, i guess.
Budget: somewhere around 1k, 1.5k absolute maximum.
grabbing a 120gb SSD because i want to run my games off of it, and i have several large ones, and will probably get more (the witcher, etc.)
I'm open for suggestions that would reduce the cost of the build, while not terribly impacting its effectiveness. i do want the Moba/proc to last for a few years preferably, so that's the main bit i don't want to skimp too much on.
CPU: You may want to go for an i5 4670k, or 4770k which is good for overclocking.
GPU: This will bottleneck your system of you use it for gaming.
PSU: Your power supply is overkill for this system, however extra overhead is not 'bad', especially for the future.
In short, if this is your max budget, lower your cpu choice to i5 4670k. The gpu needs to be way better, the 650 is basically the worst card of the 6xx line. Go for an GPU thats goes around for 250 dollars, or more if you want to get some good performance in games. Im not a specialist, but a 770 or 280x are the cards which are my choices if i were you.
