1st Time build & Trying to stay under $1k - Any Help

This will be my first computer build. I am trying to stay under $1,000. After reading a lot, I have come up with this build bellow. If there is anything I can switch out for something better at a lower price I would appreciate any advice. Also, I had a hard time picking the case. I want a case with excellent air flow but also has dust filters, as it tends to get dusty fast in my house. Did I pick a too big of a case or can I get a similar one at a lower price; any thoughts or suggestions about this case or another one would be great.

    CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U9B SE2 37.9 CFM CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Asus Z87-A ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
    Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk
Ad. Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
GPU: Asus Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB Video Card
Case: Cooler Master HAF X ATX Full Tower Case
Power Supply: Antec High Current Gamer 620W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

So according to PCPartPicker, this build is at $1,100. Thanks for any help you can give me.

    1. You could save money on CPU cooler by going with a hyper 212+/evo from cooler master.
    2. HAF X is a massive case with not that great dust filtering. I would stay away from full towers and look into mid tower, my recommendation is fractal arc midi r2. Dont buy if you cant find it on sale for 60 or 70, they regularly go on sale but their list price of 90 or 100 is too high.
    3. You can drop down to a 500w psu, not sure how much that HCG 620w is going for though, they are good psu's i have one myself.

Those three things should drop you under 1k, or get close at least.

way better gpu in the build and could kinda keep a black and blue theme. u can also consider getting a gtx 770, really depends on the games u want to play and if u prefere nvidia or amd.

Two minor changes I'd make, depending on taste, from flens' build:

    1) Get the Corsair 300R for good-quality; and if you do that
    2) Go for the ASUS R9-280X Matrix Platinum.

Mainly I play WoW, but I've started playing D3 as well. I probably will play D3-Reaper of Souls, and WoD next year. I have no preference nvidia or amd. I've owned nvidia for years now, but my gf has had amd card in her computer for awhile now too.

I was looking at the Corsair 300R and the 400R as well. I think I am going to go with the 400R for sure. As for the ASUS R9-280X Matrix Platinum, I read that the the latest drivers are not that stable. For mainly playing those two games, do you think that the Asus Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB Video Card is not enough or in the next couple of years will be obsolete?

Thanks for all the advise so far.

blizzard games tend to prefere nvidia. that said, a 280x or 7970 ghz will have no what so ever problems playing blizzard games and almost all newer ones on ultra.
