    To save:
    1. Find an outpost and interact with a beacon - the one you use to claim the discovery of it
    2. Get into your ship - and get out
    3. As you learn to build your base you will learn how to create a portable save point to carry with you for convenience.
All right, gentlemen, let's review. The year is 2020 - that's two-zero-two-zero, as in the 21st Century's perfect vision - and I am sorry to say the world has become a pussy-whipped, Brady Bunch version of itself, run by a bunch of robed sissies.

Well it is a survival game, kinda

Persistent hud - only with mods

    There's several ways.

    1) Exit your spacecraft (autosaves)
    2) Construct and place down a Save Point or Beacon and manually save.

It's worth to note that in each save file you get 1 "autosave" and 1 "Manual" save that overwrite eachother. This is actually quite handy if you're experimenting with a lot of things and want to keep a "good" savepoint way down the chain via manual saving.

Can't help you there - I'm just a lowly Console player and don't have to deal with "Master Race" issues like that. ;P

Don't know if anybody has answered this yet, but it's easy.

I forget the hierarchy, but you press "Down" on the d-pad to bring up the HUD menu, then nav to the one icon that lets you toggle between the two.

FYI - it saves your preferences individually between Starship and Player, so you can play FPS in Spaceship while running around in Third person, if you so desire.

You can eliminate vsync in settings. Also turn up max FPS.

There's a mod on nexus (don't remember the name) that get rid of the hazy look and significantly improves game performance.

Planets with survival hazards aren't meant to be be settled (unless you are in for a real challenge) same way we wouldn't settle Mercury in real life for instance. You there, poke around. Maybe find some data/treasure, then gtfo. Survival on hostile planets get a lot easier with progression though. Dig caves to aid exploration on hostile planets.

The UI is a real pain at first then it becomes completely intuitive. You can also hotkey stuff

Thanks, I will check these out. Playing in experimental is also a big performance boost apparently. They've done a lot to alleviate some of the QoL stuff, but the menus are still a pain. They really need to look into reducing the number of clicks it takes to do things, like adding fuel to your refiner and what not.

Downloaded the synthesis mods pack from nexus mods and the game runs way smoother now. Animations are crisper and faster, there's more fauna, etc. I wish the game still had more variation - I feel like every planet within the same biome always looks the same 80% of the time. Flora / Fauna doesn't really change that much, you never get any really interesting geographic locations (thinking something like Arches National Park, huge cave systems, etc.).

I really like this game a lot, and I hope they are working on a sequel with better tech that can truly live up to the full potential a game like this could be.

Looks fun! The mechs definitely need a gun of some sort, beyond the mining tool.

"Added a coordinates readout to the Exocraft HUD data."

Alright, the rest is fluff. THIS is the real update.

Anything new game play wise? I liked NMS but after the story mode was completed, there wasn't that much to do anymore.

I mean after the story, gameplay is exploration and crafting. The update adds cool exploration tools and some QoL features.

One key takeaway is that exocraft are actually useful instead of just juggling your ships for storage and environmental protection while exploring (at least that's how I played).

After watching the Internet Historian video on No Mans Sky I decided to try it and got 3 other friends to get it as well. So far we are having a blast. I highly recommend anyone who is thinking about trying it to try it out.

About the only thing they could add at this point that would make the game a 10/10 from the 0/10 it was when it was originally released (played like 30 hours then) would be adding some type of persistent faction reputation for each of the races and having war aspects so I didn't just have to incur the wrath of the never-ending space police if I want some good space fun.

It is actually incredible, few months have passed since the Endgoodening video, and they have pushed out what looks like 2 more major updates with even MOAR stuff to play around (mechs!) plus some bugfix patches.
    The dedication is admirable.

Yea it looks like I picked a great time to jump in. The latest development update says they are planning to release smaller updates regularly going forward while still pursuing larger and more ambitious updates as well.

Gah... Anyone know, if this is something I can do something about.

Hearing of the new changes, the mech, living ship, ect. I decided to try NMS again. I played a few days, but now suddenly my base got messed. Somehow my best base that I have worked on suddenly had its terrain reset. I had dug subterranean base and now suddenly its like it ever was there. I can dig it again, all the stuff is inside there, but its hard to clear everything again. Some of my structures above ground are partially filled with ground and such. All that sort of stuff reset.

There are also some other bugs suddenly like my base seemingly shift a bit. I have some stuff right at the edge of my base range, but now suddenly they are slightly out of range, etc.

Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening? That is except by making sure I build everything so that I dont touch ground?

Looks like No Mans Sky is coming to XBox Ganepass in June. It’s worth picking up and trying if you have the service.
