Fair at best. Im using a 400 dollar laptop, and i run it on low at like 5 fps in lfr. You may find one that will run it on low with decent fps.

I have an Asus k55n ds81 that I played wow with and it done a great job. Right now I am playing Bioshock and no problems. Got it off of Amazon for around 459 but now you can get it for 379. Bought another stick of memory for it also.

I did a review of this laptop that I picked up on sale new for $300. It isn't -amazing- for WoW, but I was able to hold about 20-30 fps on low settings in LFR.

I'd go with the HP. It has a faster cpu, which will make the biggest difference. It's actually the same one I have.

Probably, but I would buy it separately though.

I use a Toshiba L840, cost me $350 and I raid 25 man heroic with mostly med-high settings at about 20 fps. Only problem I've had with it, is it tends to overheat.

Do you think the AMD A8-4500M (1.9GHz) or AMD A6-4400M (2.7GHz) would be better

500$? it depends on what u playing rly... If ur playing 25man's then consider urself extending ur budget or waiting till u have more money.

We dunno about WoD yet mate and its stats, but from what I can see they increased the graphics and they changed some things in the game engine. So my guess on that is that you'll need a much better laptop than 500$

with those 500$ consider getting a PC, ull have much better quality.

I dunno how the guy above says he got an L840 for 350$... maybe it was on a very dark and black and dark friday.. cause it costs over 750$...

Also regarding gaming you wanna avoid Toshiba, as the air system is so badly designed that ye u will burn ur hands.

good luck with whatever you do, don't listen to people that will say that with a 350$ laptop play 25hc raiding at 20fps, its a lie and can be confirmed by any descent person in this forums. (L840 though aint at 500$ range even... its more than that, so he might have got it in a deal.)

And ye 500$ won't be able to play WoD in descent settings

Atm I am using alienware but a bit off ur price range.. my other dell inspiron 15r that costs 890$ plays MOP in ultra 25m raiding at 40-60 fps, but after 4 hours it drops down a bit.

I got a $600 laptop (normally $800) off newegg with dual vid cards. It plays WoW on high (not ultra) at about 30 FPS.

You can get a decent gaming laptop for $500, although I know some people hate that term.

Not even close, maybe you're looking at a i7 version? Mine is an i3.

$350 from Harvey Norman (Australia), was a few years ago now. I do agree though, they get so hot after awhile.

CPUBoss is a poor judgement of performance, especially for WoW. The A6-4400M will perform in raids much better than the A8-4500M.

I kind of want to be offended. I know it wasn't me, but 20fps is definitely doable in 25m raids. I'm not sure about Ultra/High, but I can definitely get 20-30fps in 25m raids on my $300 laptop on low/med settings.

Well I shouldn't say its 'bad', it just measures the wrong thing. The A8 is a more 'powerful' CPU as far as cores... but barely anything relies on cores still. It is, speed wise, a slower CPU than the A6, which is something WoW in particular is finicky about. Their (integrated) video cards are about the same, really. Meh at best, but WoW doesn't care too much about that.
