For those too new to remember this, there was a zone added back in late vanilla called Ahn'Qiriaj (south of Wilithus and west of modern day Uldum), a massive event zone with truly awesome lore behind it. Anyways, back in the day, reports came in all across Azeroth that the bug people were gonna take over the world. Obviously, that didn't go down too well with everyone else, and so they voted in Saurfang to lead an invasion into Ahn'Qiriaj to stop them. It took several long months; everyone on the server was donating the materials they mined or loot they earned towards the war effort, while the most hrdcore, badass, dedicated raiding guild on the server undertook the responsibility of creating a staff that would open the Scarab Wall. Fast forward a couple months (or years, depending on your server's self motivation), and you have several hundred players right outside the gate with thousands of NPCs and Supreme Commander Saurfang as they invade Ahn'Qiriaj, ultimately culminating lag fest of truly epic proportions and an awesome world battle. Two raids were added. It was a truly memorable event.
Then Cataclysm came along, and the entire zone got striped down. That massive war between the Qiriaj and the Might of Kamildor? Gone. Saurfang with his incredible mind control glitch and ridiculous crit videos of him cleaving mobs and insta killing them (hence, where his populrity came from)? Gone. Everything in Ahn'Qiriaj was removed. Only thing there now are two instance portals to the raids. Other then that, the zone is empty.
So, what will Blizzard do to the zone now?
