I went to look at Ghostcrawlers linkedin profile via the LoL thread about him going to riot games and looked at his previous history:

"Led about half of the World of Warcraft design team. Oversaw class, item, profession, combat, PvP, encounter, UI and major feature design. Shipped 3 expansions and contributed to 2 others."

if my math is right that means he contributed to WoD and whatever is next, cause wasn't TBC shipped/ready to be shipped b4 he was brought on?

He was hired in 2008, I believe, so according to this he has contributed to the xpac after WoD.

Edit: Stupid me. He was hired the same year WotLK was released, but it doesn't mean that he didn't contribute to BC's final patch(es).

1. I don't think that anyone honestly thinks WoD is the last one because Blizzard has said since day 1 of WoD announcement that WoD is setting up the expansion afterwards.
2. Just because he said he "shipped 3 expansions, contributed to 2" doesn't mean he did them in that order. He contributed to TBC (because it was going on until 2008-2009ish I'm pretty sure) and WoD and shipped WotLK, Cata, and MoP.

Metzen himself said they have a bunch of future xpacs and ideas in the works already, at the start of Blizzcon last year. I can't understand why anyone would think WoD would be the last.

Pretty sure no one thought WoD would be the last one, that would be ridiculous, like, literally ridiculous, people believe WoW needs 7+ million to function or what? It was designed around 400,000 iirc, they can pull back servers and infrastructure and staff as numbers come down to keep it balanced.

Even if leveling from 1-90 is alot faster then 1-60 in vanilla, imo it starts to be a problem. Cba to level a new character through every zone in the game.

I wouldn't be surprised if 5 more years down the road WoW is still spearheading the MMO industry, even if there isn't any reason other than its just too massive to fail easily.

I think it's funny how all the "wow is dead" or "wow is over" propaganda actually makes people believe that it is... It still has around 7 mil subscribers. That is more than any other MMO. Why in the world would Blizz stop making content for it? Does somebody really think that Blizz thinks " oh look, some trolls say WOW is dead, so we better stop doing stuff for it...".
