    sinestra

    Algalon (wooo pretty stars!)
    Mimiron (Big Red Button)
Al'Akir + Council of 4 Winds. Because that whole raid looks awesome (although the boss was an RNG-fest.)

Honorable mentions for the lich king (frozen throne!!!), and Illidan , in both cases due to the fact that you finally reached the summit of the entire raid and expansion, and you're about to fight the main heroes / baddies from WC3. Also decent into madness / yoggs room looked awesome. (Uld = best raid ever)

    They're in your MIND!

And your mind is in the room.

    Therefore it's in the room.

I vote: Twin Emperors, Heigan, and Algalon

Vanilla Nefarian - The classic "Fighting a Dragon at the top of his castle" fantasy experience. This defined epic for me in WoW's early years. "Let the games begin..." Easily my favorite WoW boss thematically.

Algalon - Just a gorgeous environment.

    Tie:
Maexxna - Fighting a giant spider queen on her web while she webs you to the walls is pretty great.
Thaddius - A giant pit of acid and 2 frankenstein monsters guarding the biggest frankenstein monster. Also a really cool encounter for it's time.

    Anyways ;P
I've personally always hated the look of the Lich King encounter. Hate me!
    1. Lei Shen
    2. Cho'Gall
    3. Sha of Fear (This is normal mode, I did like the feel of that whole raid) or Al'akir
I'm normally not all for the sparkly(ness) like Lei Shen, Algalon or Elegon, but honestly Lei Shen has to be rated the highest... its graphical standart is just way higher than any other fight. I like the look of fights such as Dark Animus or Will of the Emperor too (titan stuff), it does feel epic.

Lei Shen - The only way this fight would have been more epic is if you'd been outside, on the top of a tower, but to be honest that's so cliche I'm cool with the way it was.

Spine/Madness of Deathwing - Fighting a corrupted, dying dragon in a massive whirlpool? So cool.

Galakras - I love Durotar anyway, but fighting Galakras on the beach was awesome.

    Hmm, there's a lot:

    1) FL Rag, jaw actually dropped first time "zoning in" to his keep.
    2) Algalon, very close second to Rag.
    3) Lei Shen, love the way that his arena really become part of the fight, awesome concept.

    Honorable Mentions:
Lich King, same reason as Lei Shen, but was never a fan of the whole "Ice" theme visually, we get enough of that in the winter ;p
Ossirian, Ossiran, forget how to spell his name, epic Egypt themed room.
Freya, loved the greenhouse feel to it.
Jin'Rokh, don't even know what it is about this room, I just love it.
Will of the Emperor, loved looking up at all the different cubbies

Edit: Honorable mentioned after someone else mentioned it to Sha of Fear (heroic only) as well, simplistic, but awesome.

I do agree with the chess event. I love the sterile feel of it, and the iconic horde vs alliance theme. While I was running Kara for pets and the mount, I loved playing that chess event, win or lose. I did figure out an almost sure fire one shot for it, but winning that the first time solo was pretty awesome.

I like the Egyptian themed AQ and Uldum stuff, but the architecture, not the cave crap. The outdoor first fight with Skeram.

Third might be Al'ar. I like the brightness of the whole Tempest Keep zone to dark caves.

Ultraxion. Because I didn't move a single step all fight.

    Garrosh. Because it spans continents.

Elegon. Because I enjoyed watching people fall to their deaths.

Man there's so many good ones...
    1. Algalon in Ulduar
    2. Malygos.
    3. Freya in Ulduar.
    4. Spine of Deathwing in DS looked awesome!
    5. Lei Shen in ToT with the very interactive room.
    6. I kinda have to include vanilla Ragnaros.
    7. Oh but there's so many more!!! and there were some badass 5man dungeon boss rooms in Cataclysm!
